First, I'm a soundman with 30 years experience and often critical of audio equipment. I listened and mixed with this speaker and this is what my eyes and ears tell me. The good is that this RCF 10" speaker is made in Italy and looks great. It has awesome fit and finish. It has only one handle at the top. Since it's rather heavy at 35 lbs., a side handle would have been nice to help with mounting on a stand. I assume the reinforced steel bracket to tighten up the box in the speaker added to the weight. The front speaker grill is a heavy duty steel one, so that's good. The speaker has lots of power to drive it to very loud levels (130db SPL rated). It's whisper quiet with no speaker hiss and there is no distortion whatsoever! It has excellent tight bass for a 10" and I would say it's equivalent to most 12" speakers in the bass range. The not so good is that the speaker has a frequency dip in the all important vocal range of 900 hz to 2 khz and the crossover is a little high at 1,800hz. This vocal range mentioned really lacks presence and clarity. I think vocals could have a hard time cutting through a band mix. If you cut the bass back by about 3-4 db with other settings flat, the vocals somewhat clear up but then you lose that great bass and the balance becomes overly tilted toward the top end. I think I'm so used to a titanium tweeter for clear crisp vocals that this newer Poly/Kapton tweeter isn't bright enough for me. Overall, a good powerful and rugged speaker, but to my ears, a little too soft and smooth in that all important vocal range.

Great sound for the money. Great option for a live music band or DJ. Great projection. Our band has no issues getting a great sound out of them. If your console has good EQ capabilities you can make these sound amazing. We were using QSCs and always had great results but, when QSCs were not available it was difficult getter parts and new speakers. We tried these RCFs and we love them. Very reliable so far nothing has failed.Sure, they do not sound as good as QSCs to me but, in a live music situation where it's not a critical listening session... When the crowds these days are more concerned about having a good time with their friends and the band is basically there for entertainment, I don't see any reason to spend the extra cash for QSCs. I can make the RCFs sound just as good as QSCs with careful EQing.Bottom line is - they work great for us, they are not as complicated as the QSCs (benefit for some), they are reliable, and the projection is amazing.

Bought to replace QSC K10.2s. Sound noticeably better in the upper midrange than the K10.2s. Less DSP options than the QSC product, but I prefer a simpler approach and the RCF price is lower.

Received 2 defective speakers. Tried a variety of inputs, both XLR & TRS cables, and still got very faint volume with zero bass until I put the volume to 7 or 8 then it started popping in and out. I really wanted to like these speakers but very concerned that both had the same problem. They were also both shipped in the manufacturer box which had almost no padding. Even if mishandled in shipping, these speakers should still be rugged enough to withstand that. Sold by: AVBYFP
