The photos are not well done for this listing. The add shows the arrow pointing towards the gas tank cross piece for this listing, it is NOT the gas tank cross piece. It's the one behind it.I haven't had the chance to install this one but it's built just like it's brother one that goes over the gas tank and these are thick metal that are well built and is going to outlast the truck. The directions show that you should cut into your frame, and that's useless and a waste of time. Cut out your old one, get the inner frame tube pieces out, then hollow one side out slightly so you can slip the new crossmember in. Then you can slide it back through to the other side. Make sure you have your pieces that are needed for everything (especially frame reinforcement) on the inside before doing this. Then just line it up and weld it in. If you do this correctly your side you don't hollow out will be a tight fit and be lined up perfectly for height. The other side just hollow out the top or bottom so you can slide it in and then the other end (top or bottom) will be lined up and you can get it set right. basically make your holes tight enough that it knows were it needs to be. use your frame to find the parallel of your shock and rotate to match. If you are seeing any rusting out of your cross members definitely replace them. I can't say these are the best or easiest out there, but they absolutely will outlast the rest of the truck.

I haven't installed thise mount yet, but it appears to be very good quality. Anything has to be better than the obvious factory mount that's being replaced, right? This is a must have kit for anyone that owns the 07-13 model GM trucks with the terrible rotting frames.

Got this for my son who is very good mechanically and is building his own truck right now. He seems to really like the quality of the shock mount crossmember and he did mention to me in passing this morning that the install was fairly easy from start to finish and he is optimistic that this will hold up well for a long time to come.
