Born and raised in Hawaii. I’ve grown many ti plants. This one didn’t grow. I reached out to the vendor. No response. package received promptly, but I couldn’t get one of the easiest plants to grow, to start in an indoor terrarium. Stocks came dry and crumbly

I have had this for several weeks, planted in a pot. They are both starting to grow, although the green is actually sprouting leaves while the red just has buds. It is a fine balance to keeping it moist, while not overwatering/letting it dry out.

Received the two Ti plant cuttings/logs. Followed the directions and they are beginning to develop the “eruptions” for the roots and the stems. The pictures are at the 3 week mark. One picture is of the tops of the cuttings. The other is of the bottom of the red Ti cutting. The medium I am experimenting with is “water beads” or also known as crystal soil. Very happy with this purchase. I will update as it progresses.

Three stars only because the plants didn't grow even when I followed the instructions. Perhaps not for novice planters.

It took over one month for them to get started but Yes! Both red and green have sprouted. It really took a long time for them to sprout. I had to scrape of the coloring on the ends for them to get going. It's now 8 months after planting and the plants are alive and growing slowly.

After a month these little guys popped out at the same time on the same day. Trick is to not burry deep .... just cover logs with half inch of soil not packed down, water lightly every day. I put them in a one gallon nursery pot, but as I said don't bury deep under. One has a red tip and the other green... very cute so far. UPDATE.... They are coming up great BUT the REDS on is NOT RED it has red edges. I really wanted a fully red Ti plant and after planting 4 red and 4 green..... none are red so taking 2 stars off.

Mine are growing quickly, about 4 ft tall in 6 months, but then again I live in Florida and mine are outside.

I got one of these Starter Logs 30+ years ago, and the plant that arose from it was amazing. More recently, I've tried three different times (not always with logs from Discount Hawaiian Gifts) and gotten nothing more than initial buds to appear. Thereafter, the log molds and disintegrates. Compared to what grew the first time around, every attempt since has been a disappointment. I don't know if the processing and packaging is to blame, or the plants today are genetically weakened, but they certainly don't grow as well as that first one did. At least not for me.
