Solid ball. Easier to install with Reese interlock system, only if you are attaching it to a Reese drawbar.The only thing it's missing (and the reason for only 4 stars) is a hole in the shank for a safety pin so the nut won't come off if the nut loosens while towing. Torque it to 160 ft-lbs. and you shouldn't have an issue.Overtorquing can strip the threads and cause safety issues. Undertorqing can cause a loose nut while towing, which also can cause the threads to strip while towing, or other safety hazards. Tow safely out there!I purchased the reese towpower ball #72802.

Ball is great and the company I bought it through got it shipped quickly. The other company I ordered from a few days before still had not shipped. I got this one a few days before the other one arived. It was exactly what I wanted and WHEN I wanted it.

Heavy duty...fit perfectly but a really big wrench ( read a lot more expensive than the hitch) is needed to secure it to the hitch. I ended up using my workbench vise and a plumber wrench with a long pipe extension to tighten it. I also used Locktite red to make sure it will stay tight... If you don't have access to big tools, you may want to take it to a muffler shop to have them attach it to your hitch or you can buy a hitch with the ball attached. Amazon sells them for cheap...

They are well made and should pull my utility trailer very well.The 5/8“ hitch pin is of absolutely no use to me as the ball mount has a ½” hole!Why these items were bundled together in the first place makes no sense.I have instructed Amazon to send me the appropriately size ½” Hitch pin along with a USPS mailing label for return of the incorrectly sized 5/8” pin if they actually want it back.RD

Strong, quality ball. I didn't use it because I bought a 1" shank drawbar and this ball has a 3/4" shank. Amazon's fault so I returned it. Make sure you need a 3/4" shank with only 3500lbs capacity before buying this ball. Check the hole diameter of your drawbar.

I bought this for my husband to go with a mount for his jeep. He has pulled some very equipment with it, and had no problems. The price of it was cheaper than anywhere else I looked. Good product!

Nice chrome finish - not as durable as stainless steel (not a expensive either), but pretty solid. This is a sturdy, well made unit that feels more like 5,000lb balls rather than 3,500lb, which is confidence inspiring. The design is such that a single wrench can screw it on, even on a standard hitch. Super convenient and exudes quality. The packaging was a little funky, easy to get it out of, but came in a box bigger than it needed to. All around, good quality product.

Kind of hard to review a hitch ball, but my husband was happy with this. It was a great price and does the job it was supposed to do. We use it in conjunction with the and a class 3 tow hitch to haul a 5'x8' enclosed utility trailer and have been very happy with the combination. We couldn't find a better price at any of the local stores we checked; this is a great deal!
