I bought this for my 95-year-old mother because she loves music but can’t operate anything complex. I picked this music player over other models because it can play songs from a USB stick AND it can play FM radio stations. The ability to program three specific radio stations in to simple-to-operate buttons is a brilliant feature. Unfortunately, the FM tuner in this music player is horrible. Only very strong local stations can be tuned. Nothing else can be tuned. Stations that have crystal-clear sound in her cheap clock radio in the same room cannot be tuned by this music player. This is a HUGE shame because it’s one of the best features of the design. Unfortunately, my mother can’t figure out how to use her clock radio any more (which is why I bought this music player in the first place) so the only music she can listen to is on the USB stick. If I could do this again, I’d buy a cheaper music player that can only play USB songs since this radio is useless.As others have noted, some USB sticks do not work in this player. The first one I tried did not work. Since then, three other sticks, varying in capacity up to 32 GB have worked. I’m not sure why some don’t work. All were formatted as FAT32.Some have questioned what order it plays songs in. It plays them in alphabetical order. Although the manual says nothing about it, the player WILL play tracks that are organized into folders. I ripped a bunch of CDs and put the songs from each CD into a unique folder. Within each folder, the filenames start with the CD track number. The player plays each folder sequentially in alphabetical order and plays each file (track) in the folder in alphabetical order as well. You can change the order that the folders are played by putting numbers at the beginning of the folder filenames to change the alphabetical order.Pros:- Great sound- Simple and large controlsCons:- Horrible FM radio reception; only very strong stations can be tuned- 1970’s style metal antenna that gets in the way and can break easily- Very expensive for what it does

Simple to use with just on, off, volume and channel buttons. The on button is concave while the off button is convex so they work by feel. I have a 64GB USB stick and it works fine. It may support larger but this one has over 1000 songs. The only reason this is 4 stars is that I wish there was a button on the top to skip the song on the USB.

The product is sold internationally with no option to select region for power plug. Product was sent with only one adapter, not able to be used in my country. Amazon suggests purchasing a 3rd party adapter, however when advised that this will void the warranty their only option is sending the item back for a refund. Not ideal to say the least.

I have a family member in memory care who loves music. This device has been a great comfort to them - they were able to use it themselves for a long time, and now the nursing staff turn it on for them. Music can be a great comfort to those with dementia or Alzheimer's. The radio is not cheap but very well made and after initial setup it will consistently play the three stations you setup and not get throw out of configuration by the patient. Nice big on off buttons and volume knob with clear labels make it easier for patient to use. Recommended.

Purchased this for my 98 year old mother who is hard of hearing, difficult seeing and early dementia. The sound quality is very good and the radio is easy to use. She is enjoying listening to Christmas music we loaded on the usb stick. Awesome product and I highly recommend it.

This radio is the real deal. I programmed my Dads stations for Country, Classical and Soft Rock and he loves it. No tuning required on his part. The programming is simple to do and is hidden away from the patient.One small criticism - the volume at the lowest setting is still fairly loud. The volume control should be able to be set to almost 0db. My Dad likes to have music on while sleeping, so we had to place some sound barrier in front of the speakers to muffle the volume level.Otherwise, great product!

Needed for an older family member with significant physical limitations. They love music - and weren't getting to hear it anymore. For that reason alone, this product is a winner! Though, I agree with others, I was a bit shocked at the price and was surprised there aren't ANY other similar devices at a lower price-point. I will say, this is a QUALITY speaker, very clear sound. Though the DAB function adds to the cost - and has no use in the American market. Not all USB sticks will work (fortunately I had a shorter basic SanDisk which works great). The radio can be hit-or-miss based on reception - but setting up hours of commercial free MP3s is really where this shined. In the end- worth the price to provide a VERY simple music player for someone who appreciates it!

Muy fácil de utilizar.Temía que el pendrive, cada vez que se pagaba volvería a empezar desde el principio, pero no, reproduce donde se ha quedado y es fantástico porque le puedo poner mucha música sin tener que escuchar siempre las primeras. Ya que no se puede avanzar las canciones, pero no es problema porque tampoco lo sabría utilizar.Super contento porque ahora mi madre puede escuchar esas canciones de cuando era joven.

This product does what it's supposed to do--simplify the user experience. For that, I am glad I have it and am grateful that it exists. It makes me happy to see my loved one using it. But as others have said, why on earth is it so expensive? It feels like simply taking advantage of an unsaturated market. We are desperate and willing to pay for these simplified products, so we do. That doesn't inspire brand confidence, trust, or good feelings. Product Complaints: The 4th programmable button is really just for a playlist from a thumb drive that you would insert in the back with MP3s or something? Very weird and out of date. Then you'd have the drive sticking out the back and it would be confusing to my loved one. So just know that basically you will only have 3 channels. Lastly, I'm disappointed in the volume control. The quietest setting is actually still pretty loud and I would have rather just had it on as background music sometimes, not always the main event. I also worry about disturbing others at that volume. But I guess they just assume that people who would be using it might have hearing impairment and might run the risk of turning the volume down so much that they wouldn't understand why it wasn't playing anymore, so there's that.

I bought this radio for my mom. It's a great idea and was easy to set up, but the actual radio is very low quality. The reception was poor, and it simply stopped working after a couple months. Considering the price, I'm disappointed.

My 93 yr old mother is in hospital for an extended stay and unable to watch tv. We bought this hoping that she would at least be able to turn it on and listen to some music. She is VERY not tech savvy and with age it has gotten worse. This radio has been great for her. Because of her location there were few choices of stations that played music that she liked. I simply went out, purchased a USB key and loaded it up with music of her generation. The sound quality is surprisingly very good and mom is able to use it with ease. I definitely recommend it. I can't speak of batteries since we are able to plug it into a wall socket. Yes, it is expensive but having my mother be able to use it without a problem makes it worth the price for us. Also, the instruction booklet was very clear to understand for people that might not be very tech savvy.
