Unit had a full range of motion and was remote controlled very well. Brightness left a little more to be desired though.

Well built. Easy to wire in. Bright for what it is. I purchased this for my boat also mainly due to the price. It was smaller than I thought it would be so I installed it on my golf cart. Works well. The threads on the sides, 6mm, could have been threaded a bit better. The bolts were hard to start and some of the aluminum material came out of the threads. But I was able to install them and all good.

I bought this light for my boyfriend for Christmas. He opened it Christmas Eve and put it on his truck that night. It is January 19th and this light has already broke. It was placed on the truck correctly and fell off of the roof into the bed or the truck and snapped the cord off of the light. The bad thing is I bought this light way before Christmas so now I cannot return it. Do not get this light.

This light is very bright and has a really impressive range. It has many mounting options, including a magnetic base as well as permanent mounting hardware. It has a full range of motion, rotating 360 degrees horizontally and 120 degrees vertically, and is built to withstand various weather conditions with its enclosed pivot area. It's well suited for a variety of uses, such as on boats, RVs, and trucks. However, the pan/tilt movement is slow, and the remote control feels kind of cheap. Overall though I'm quite happy with it.

My cabin cruiser, medium-sized boat, didn't originally come with a bow searchlight. It is an odd missing feature because you want one if docking at dusk or darker. Anyway, that brought me to this searchlight. If you've ever shopped at a marine store, everything is expensive. I mean everything. Yeah, I know, boo-hoo me, I have a boat. You're right. Anyway, Larson Electronics sells a nearly identical searchlight that is also 50 watts and is $2000 CAD (no kidding and you can spend way more than that for just a little more wattage). The only difference with it is, that the remote is hardwired to the dash vs this wireless remote. So, this searchlight is an excellent value for many applications. The mounting magnets are rated at 60 KPH on the highway, so I opted to hard mount this to the bow of the boat. The base has this option and provides bolts for that. However, I wish they had provided a plate that is the same size as the base to use as a wrap-around (sandwich the base around a railing) mount on a bow pulpit. I had to make my own. Regardless, it wasn't tough to mount. In terms of function, the light is easy to control and rotate as well as up and down adjusting. Provides plenty of light with a decent distance coverage. More than enough for docking or looking at something on the water in the dark.Weakness: The remote feels a bit cheap and I would like it had they provided a spare but I velcro'd mine to the dash so it doesn't go anywhere or get bounced around. I highly doubt the remote is waterproof, so like me, if it's going to be exposed to the elements, you'll have to protect it (mine is in a plastic wrap that has to be replaced when the batteries are changed).the light looks good on the boat, works well, and I would highly recommend it.

I have purchased additional remotes. I use them to turn on the light as I am approaching the boat on the pier. It lights up the whole pier so that I can see where I am going. It is really bright. A definite upgrade from the spot light that I had.

Ordered this to replace the broken spotlight on my boat. It's an older boat and all the original lights use old style resistance bulbs, so any opportunity to replace them with more efficient LED lights is welcomed. The boat is shrink-wrapped for the winter so I have not had a chance to actually install this light yet. I've plugged it in and played with it for a bit though. I really like it. The light is nice and bright (not crazy bright like those 2 million candlepower spotlights, but plenty bright enough) and only draws 35 watts when on. It has a number of magnets in the base so you can stick it to a metal surface without permanently attaching it, but in my case I'll be using the mounting holes and stainless steel mounting hardware that come with it.The wireless remote control works okay. Distance is more than I'll need on the boat, and I tried it through walls at home and it works fine. It comes with two 9-volt square batteries (one to use and one spare). Using the remote control, you can adjust the angle of the light from side to side and about 120 degrees up and down. My only complaint about the remote is that it feels quite cheaply made. Not sure it will survive a drop on the floor, which concerns me because with these no-name Chinese products you never know if you'll be able to get replacement parts or components should you ever need to. And without the remote this light is nothing more than a big paperweight, with no way to turn it on or off or to change the direction of the beam. The only other thing I don't care for is the power cord. It is designed to be plugged into a 12V 'cigarette lighter' outlet, which is fine if you're using this spotlight from inside your truck, but for marine applications like mine the light will be installed outside with no access to a 12V outlet. I'm going to have to cut the 12V plug off the end of the wire and macgyver it into my boat's wiring system.

Got this for a work vehicle. Worked great around the job site and around town. Left it on the vehicle while traveling from one site to the next and it flew off on the freeway.
