Just the right size for my Sprinter van. Solid metal, so it doesn't flex at all under my 235 lb physique. I used a screw in, locking pin, so there's no wobble.

I have a couple of Jeep Cherokee’s that are lifted, and it can be difficult to reach to strap things on top. I figured I’d give this step a try. The fit and finish of this machined aluminum step are excellent, I think it is much better than the plastic ones that I’ve seen. It ships in two pieces, which go together with two included socket-head bolts. It does not include a hex-key, I think I used an 8mm hex-key. It also doesn’t include a hitch-pin, but any standard pin will work.My 2001 XJ has a standard aftermarket hitch setup and it works fine on it and places the step in a good spot a little bit out from the bumper. My 2000 XJ has a custom rear bumper that has a non-standard 2in receiver hitch with more rounded corners and a pin hole that is further back than most hitches. This makes it difficult to find ball mounts and other accessories that will fit it. This step slides into the receiver, but is about an inch too short to get the hitch-pin to go in. I’m thinking about drilling an extra hole through the receiver tube to make it (and potentially other hitches) fit, but that will have to wait until the next time I take the thing off. In any case, if you are looking for a great, sturdy step that fits a standard receiver hitch, this is your ticket!

This comes disassembled and there is NO tool provided for the ridiculously large hex bolts. I had to take the bolt to the hardware store and specifically buy the hex key I needed adding to the cost of this item. Then I realized there i no hitch pin included. So now I have to go back and buy a hitch pin also. Why even sell this if you cant complete the set and provide what is necessary to use it?

This is the review of tow hitch step. This is made of black anonized aluminum and its perfect on every angle. Texture is great, every detail is perfect with no imperfections. It's a 12 inch wide step that is screws into the square extension that fits into a 2x2 hitch receivers. Texture feels good, exterior is not easily scratched, feels solid inside and feels very strong. It can easily handle my weight of 220lbs without any signs of stress and it is rated for 450 lbs. I was a bit skeptical when I was assembling it as I know aluminum is softer than steel and I wished they use steel nut with the steel bolt to connect both parts but after stepping on it, it felt decent enough. I was also initially bit disappointed that they did not include a hex key but I guess 99% of people that needs this has a hex key on their toolbox. Make sure you have a 5/16 or 8mm hex to screw them.Overall I was very happy with this and I will recommend this for purchase.

Ordered/Received this RENO Hitch Step, Rear Bumper Guard Protector Compatible with 2" Receiver.Have been looking for one of these type step ups for my truck as I've saw a few around on other vehicles. When looking and reading about this one, "Reno Brand" and how it's built and designed, knew this was the one, so I ordered it. Upon receiving, Knew I had made the right choice as the good quality really shows and their "quality control" in making these. I like the nice smooth black anodized aluminum finish, no real sharp corners. It was ready to install. All I had to do was screw in the (2) bolts that appear to be stainless steel. Tightened them and it slide right into my receiver hitch (2"). Used my pin from ball receiver. Took less than (5) min total. I like the smaller size and it's not "bulky" and in the way. The actual step is approx 12" wide and perfect for just stepping up to reach in the bed of my Chevy 1500 truck. It's 450 LB rating is great. This thing is a life saver for me as I'm now a senior adult. This step makes it so easy now to reach for anything in bed of my truck. Very happy with it. It will last me many years. I would recommend this step to any friend. I have to give it a 5 star rating

I thought this might give a bit of a boost getting things from the back of my Ford F150. It is very sturdy and well-constructed.Assembly took a couple of unexpected minutes to get through. The assembly itself is very simple but finding the proper tool was not. It basically just requires an Allen wrench but a rather large one. I dare say I probably have more tools than the average middle-aged man. I'm sure some folks have more but I have a pretty good collection, including multiple sets of Allen wrenches. I had nothing that would directly work to tighten the included bolts. I search through every tool box I own. Every Allen wrench was just too small. I ended up making due with a very large flat head screwdriver that fit just perfectly across the middle. I prefer to have the right tool for the job but had little choice aside from a trip to the hardware store. I did put some blue Loctite on it as well but managed to get a pretty snug fit with the screwdriver. I was worried a little bit about slipping over time though due to vibration and the downward facing position.Installation was a breeze of course. just slide in into my 2" receiver and put a pin (not included) through it. Stepping on it, I'm sure it will carry the advertised 450 pounds without issue.
