Item arrived on date promised. Battery was already fully charged and the Garmin Nuvi fired right up after the replacement battery was installed. I am happy with the results. Online videos provided all the needed instructions for conducting the replacement.

I brought the Garmin replacement battery from Upstartbattery.com at Amazon for $9.25. The battery was very low in power. It did not work well at all. My GPS would not stay on. I made a complaint at Upstartbattery.com, but have gotten no reply. I have since learned, this is their standard way of doing business.

So far it works well and is holding a charge. I used a You-tube video to take the Garmin apart and replace the battery. Would have been nice if they included a strip of double stick tape for securing the battery. Luckily, I had some.

Works well. Only needed a pocket knife, my small nut driver set with the t5 and phillips bit. You will need the clear double sided stick tape to hold down the battery in the case. Did not need any tools to open case after the 2 screws were removed from under the label. No soldering, plug fits the 255w perfectly. Watch the video on your kindle while you do it.

Battery seems to work but it doesn't come with instructions for installing it. Found that at NewPower99.com along with the great tool kit I needed to get the job done.

Very pleased with this battery. My Garmin Nuvi 255 now shows a nearly full charge on the battery, and I tested it running the unit 45 minutes after disconnecting it from charging, and it still showed a nearly full charge (i.e. no change). I expect that my unit now has several hours of battery life, whereas before it had about 15 minutes.
