This thing is wonderful for trying to keep my butter from melting too fast or my meringue based buttercreams from separating when the kitchen is super hot, especially in the summer. I used to grab whatever random ice packs and freezer gel pads for first aid to wrap around the bottom and as much of the sides of my mixing bowl as I could to desperately try to keep everything cool. I don't have to do that any more with this since it wraps around. The cons are though finding room in my freezer to keep it (those ice packs and gel packs mentioned above were suck in random corners of my freezer) and it is a bit on the heavier side due to the size.

I love making Italian and Swiss meringue buttercream and until now I've tried ice bags and frozen veggies propped and stacked against my stand mixer trying to drop the temp sooner so butter could be added but I couldn't get contact in more than a couple spots and was having to hold/press the ice to get it to cool the bowl. I don't know how I havent seen one of these before but this is a game changer for my buttercream batches. It's a good size for my standard lift bowl, it cinches at the bottom to cover the curve of the bowl, the strap accommodates the handle on the bowl, and it's fairly slim to lay flay in the freezer without taking up much room. This likely has other applications but if you make italian or Swiss meringue buttercream this will make your life easier

My wife runs a bakery out of our home and she gets frustrated in the summer time because it gets so hot and her frosting will start to melt. She can use this and keep things cool while mixing. She also makes these cookies thst use melted butter that she has to wait for to cool down. Now that she has this the wait time is greatly reduced. Mixing whipping cream will be easier as you have to keep the bowl and whisk cold so this will keep everything chilly while she's whisking stuff.

This is a great idea and will keep the bowl cold and therefore the food in the bowl cold during these summer months. It will work great for my buttercream recipes when it's literally sweating bullets inside.

This seems like a great idea. Not easy to get on to the mixing bowl and back in the mixer. I have a Kitchen Aid mixer. It can be done. I got this to keep the whipped cream cool while mixing. I will have to use it for a few times to see if it is worth using or not.

This freezer collar wraps around the mixer bowl almost perfectly. About 10 percent of the bowl is not exposed. One has to fiddle a little bit to get the velcro straps through the metal handle, since the straps meet exactly where the handle is attached. So, it could have been designed a bit smarter, but it works. All in all, a good idea if one preps whipped cream or other temperature-sensitive foods.

Good quality product! It is well made and fits my bowl pretty well. Not clear on the velcro straps - are they supposed to attach above and below the handle? Or should they attach through the handle and below?

I used this yesterday when I was making ice cream. My ice cream maker doesn't hold the entire mixture from my recipe so I used this on my mixing bowl to keep the mixture cold while I was churning the first batch. It worked great doing this. I am sure it will work at keeping other things cold as well while they are being mixed
