This works like a charm. It is going to save us a lot of money since Verturo pods are not offered at a discount in the grocery stores.Simple and easy to use. I can do 30 pods in less then 30 minutes.

There was a new coffee I really wanted to try and Nespresso pods are very limited in flavors and selection so I went out on a limb. This device is super easy to use and worked perfectly. I am so excited to make my own pods now.

This set up is easy to use. Clean out the old pods, make sure the bar code on the lower rim of the pod is not obstructed. Centring the top seal is important to get the right pour. Add ground coffee, sweep the edges before attaching the top seal. You get the same fluffy froth and delicious press and it costs about 25 cents a cup. Well worth it.

To try out this kit, I did 10 capsules using different techniques. If you follow the videos that people uploaded here, you will be fine. The most difficult thing is cleaning out the used pods and removing Nespresso’s foil. However, after you’ve done this, it was really easy to remove the foil from the capsules that I made. I used Starbucks Expresso (large bag on Amazon is about $14, and put a tad more in the cup than the included measuring spoon. I made 70 capsules. Removing the foil, cleaning them out, and washing them took the longest time, about 45 minutes. I let them air dry on cookie racks. The capsules are easily dented, so I also pushed/smoothed the dents out from the inside with the back of my fingernail. I took two mini muffin pans and placed the cleaned capsules in them to set up an assembly line. I used a small spoon to fill them, tapped the sides to move any coffee off the sides, ran the brush around the outside to be sure it was free from coffee bits, and then placed it in the holder device where I added the foil and pressed lightly around the top. Then I flipped the brush and used the handle end to press the foil on to the lip. I then pulled it out of the device and used the top portion to seal the sides (as in the video). I haven’t has any leaks and the capsules do not rub. My cost was 34 cents plus my time per capsule. Nespresso Vertuo capsules are $1.30 and up. Over the course of the year, I will have saved over $1200 and still have a great cup of coffee. The 70 capsules will last me a month or so. I will keep Nespresso capsules on hand for a once in awhile change of coffee flavor and to offer guests options.
