They dont work with traditional gold mount chargers, also the chargers they gave 1/2 of them were bad.

Experience and usage:I bought 2 of these in Gold Mount flavor. I have had them for a couple of years now and they work well. I dropped one on the cement and the little red button popped out but otherwise it works the same. I just have to use a copper pin wire to tap the button inside and get a battery level. The simple numeric display makes various read outs when charging or the battery is low to help you figure out what’s up.Charging:The included charger plugs use the d tap port and it charges in a decent amount of time I think a full charge takes about 3-5 hours from a dead 0 or single digit charge.I do have a dual gold mount Dracast brand charger and these batteries don’t seem to charge as well on it using the gold mount for charging. So I exclusively charge them with the d-tap charging cords that come with it. So if you lose those cords you may have less speedy and robust charging on a pre-owned mount-based charger. Maybe my charger is proprietary to Dracast battery circuitry/specifications but it has worked well with other gold mount batteries in the past. The Bread and butter:The battery life is good. I currently run a BMPCC 6k Pro all day when using the EVF which is key to maximizing battery life with any camera. The EVF turns off the LCD on the camera and the Big LCDs are what tend to drain your power supply. Even when using the LCD in daylight I can run for 3-4 hours. That’s enough time to charge a second battery so you can just swap and rotate 2 batteries and that will get you through a full day in most on location shooting conditions. Within minimal rig power. I have not had a need to split the d-tap out for a full scale camera rig running an external monitor, wireless follow focus, plus a wireless video transmitter etc. So you may want to buy one and test it if that is your need. But if it is you can probably afford to bill larger more expensive brand batteries to your production anyway.Cons:The biggest complaint I have is that the USB port is very low voltage. It doesn’t really even charge a phone or anything quickly: so running a high voltage accessory via USB along side a camera with the d-tap will probably not work. But it can probably run something small via USB like maybe a battery operated mini follow focus but probably not good for a power hungry wireless video transmitter. I thought I could hybrid-use this as a portable phone or tablet charger (no camera usage; I took it camping as an accessory charger) but the USB port just won’t output enough to be practical for that use case.Summary:All in all these have been more than adequate for many camera situations. I have used them for both a BMPCC 6k pro and an Ursa mini 4.6k Pro. 2 batteries worked well and run both cameras for a full day if you duo-rotate them. It would be great if they added a little rubber around the edges to help with tactile feel and more manual security when handling. You could wrap a couple rubber bands around it to help you avoid dropping and give it a nicer feel in your hand. The Gold mount version fits really well on most cameras. A little snug on some mounts but always has been secure as expected compared to finicky v mounts.Final word of recommendation:I would say these are great for first time upgraders to pro batteries, or as extra batteries for productions running a lot of gear that need extra batteries for powering monitors, B and C cameras or other professional production gear in a portable power-limited location.

Revision#3Moving this back down to one star. Charging has been stuck at 74% for the last 14 hours. Don’t waste your time get a professional battery.I’m revising this up to 3 stars from one - mainly because the company actually took the time to follow up. after I wrote my initial review the company contacted me and asked if they could send me another battery free of charge to try again.I did the same test as the others A Black Magic Pro 6k screen at full brightness and let it run. The replacement lasted a total of 3.5 hours. Which is an improvement from the previous 2 that I returned. However, I had already bought a core nano to use for the shoot. It’s rated at 98 a little less then half of this one. It lasted a solid 4 hours on the test with consistent drain. If your building a kit to do professional work you will eventually have to buy professional batteries. My opinion it’s better to pay extra now then later when you end buying double. Also, one out of three ain’t bad - unless your entire shoot day is on the line.********Original reviewThe first one went from 100 to 74 in 20 minutes - then ran for about two hours total. The replacement went from 100 to 48 in 5 minutes. The battery life was horrible. Using black magic 6k pro with full brightness on screen.Spend the extra money and get a core or Watson or Anton Bauer and feel safer it won’t suddenly die on a shoot.

Great price for a battery that has quick and easy charging and long life. Love the battery life indicator. I use it for professional video shoots and I highly recommend it.

Exceptional value for the money. Helps power my camera, Atomos Ninja monitor and follow focus motor for my video set up. Overall have been extremely happy with the performance. The only thing I’ve noticed that I’m not a fan of but may be an issue for all Gold/V-Mount batteries is that it tends to lose charge just sitting. I notice it more when it’s been left it a warmer environment compared to a cooler. Is that a thing? In any case, compared to my slower charging L series batteries, this thing is fully loaded in about 5hrs with the included charger and lasts all day so with the typical prep before a client shoot it hasn’t been an issue for me.

I have used this for a wile now on my Red Epic, honestly it works really well. Not to mention its half the cost of the more expensive brands. THAT BEING SAID, I'm one of those ass holes on set who likes my camera to look cool, these do not look cool at all. So much so that I 3d Printed a new cover for the top, I might upload that later and link it some how. But if you peal off the sticker, it becomes at least 40% less cringe for those big sets. That being said again, if you care that much about the look of your camera package, your probably over thinking it... Might as well get something that works.

came fully charged and ready to use out of the box. the charging d-tap connector fit perfectly and snuggly. these batteries are an affordable alternative to other types and this model comes in just under the airline’s lithium-ion 160 Wh limit.

While i had some issue with the battery at first, the customer service made it right, very hard to find such a seller nowaday on amazon. The battery is good itself, the issue I had with the battery was specifically about the usb port, it seems to not work consistently but I got a replacement (outside of amazon 30 days return). Seller made it right. Buy with confidence.
