Great awning. however the supports for the poles are made of paper mache, they break if you look at them funny. at least they are easy to replace. do yourself a favor and buy a couple of Batwing Pole Service Kits, you'll need them.

First trip using this awning, a 5-10mph puff of wind folded the awning over the jeep and broke a hinge bracket. They include 2 spare hinge brackets, so this is intended - but we hadn't even finished setting it up and the wind wasn't blowing... just one little 'puff'. The hinge is intended to break to avoid damage to the poles, however the pole also bent. When replacing the hinge I noticed that the awning cover was ripped - this is with less then 2,000 road miles and maybe 100 offroad miles. This awning is garbage. Save your money and buy something with decent quality.

The zipper doesn't close since we bought this product, and the arms keep breaking, we have bought new parts to fix the plastic arms connect to the hinge, and hope to fix that part. It really looks bad on our show when we can't use the zipper to close this product. Not sure what to do next related to the zipper problem other than we have been using bungees to hold it all together. We hope the vendor will reach out to help fix this product for us.

Had similar experience as other reviewers. A little bit of wind and the poles bent and broke beyond repair. For $800 I guess I expected something more durable. It was nice while it lasted.

This product is incredible! It's easy to use (one man operation if needed), sturdy in strong winds (as long as all guy lines are deployed), and the recent production improvements have made tremendous differences. We did have to fabricate and install some blocks to lift the awning over the edge of our trailer and close the gap, but this also doesn't exist in most applications. The Yakima/Thule bracket is VERY misleading (different product) and absolutely requires drilling out the holes in the Rhino bracket, but the effort was more than worth the result.

I know they are meant for an automobile, however I attached the batwing to my small 2 person camping trailer, fits well and covers the area that we will need. Have yet to go camping with it as we are in Canada and it's little cool yet for camping (March). Looking forward to using it. May order the extension covers after we use it, will wait and see.

I love this awning. I have it installed on my truck and it works fine. What I have noticed is that the cover is not waterproof and as a result the awning gets wet inside after a heavy rain. Not sure what to do about that though. The other thing I had happen was one of the poles slipped apart. It would be great if they were a bit more steady and had a push button release vs the detents that can easily become unserviceable. I ended up having to use some duct tape to keep it up.Update August 2018So I’ve been using this awning for a few months. Going out to Daytona Beach every other week. They are we are allowed to drive on the beach. I have had to replace the bushings twice due to wind gusts snapping the poles. If you live in a windy environment you have to take due caution to make sure the canopy is well secure or you will simply lose it over the roof of your vehicle and it will break apart. I will leave my rating at 4 stars with the caveat that it works fine when the weathers fine. Don’t deploy in breezy conditions.
