Made in Austria by the world's most renowned wineglass maker, Riedel Crystal, founded in 1756, this classic decanter is blown from 24 percent lead crystal. It is magnum size (1-1/2 liters), perfect for one or two bottles of red wine. While the most common use of a decanter is to prevent sediment in an aged red wine from spoiling the wine's clarity and brilliance, some authorities also recommend decanting young red wines to give them the opportunity to bloom. In either case, this spectacular decanter brings a breathtaking elegance to the dinner table. Standing 9-1/2 inches high on a 9-1/2-inch-diameter base, its proportions are as perfect as the crystal. Riedel crystal is used by fine restaurants all over the world and thus must stand up to frequent trips through a dishwasher. Looks nice, quality seems fine, price is fair, but with 1.5 litres of wine in it the aerated surface is a bit small.

Die Karaffe war super eingepackt so das beim Versand nichts passieren konnte.Ich bin trotzdem vom Preis Leistungsverhältnis nicht überzeugt, da ich eine sehr ähnliche erst kürzlich im Supermarkt gesehen habe.Hier zahlt man nur für den Namen. Die Karaffe ist aus Glas und wenn man sie runterschmeisst geht sie genauso wie jede andere kaputt...Ich hoffe ich konnte einigen mit meiner Rezession nützlich sein.

This product does not look like it's made of "fine crystal", even though it probably is. It looks pretty cheap for the price and the brand. Also, the website description states that its "country of origin" while the actual product is labeled "made in Hungary".

Just wow! Everything I've bought from Riedel has been top notch and this is no exception. It's heavyweight and thick. Doesn't feel like it'll crumble to pieces when you grab it or place it down. It can hold a full bottle of red perfectly and beautifully. It's the ultimate decanter. I'd get one if I were you.

We use it all the time. It is crystal but feels super sturdy. Other crystal decanters always feel fragile and I always end up breaking them. We've had this since November and have not had any problems. Definitely a great purchase.

'Perfect' decanter for young wines but the magnum is no use. Take the regular 'Ultra', for a bit less money and the same effectiveness (if not better).It does not need any accessory to pour the wine as the shape of the decanter takes care of everything. The wine flows perfectly automatically to the botton across all parts inside.You will see what I mean after the first time you use it :-)
