Radio in tractor needed an antenna to work (no idea what happened to the last one). This one fit perfectly and now I can listen to local traffic reports in whatever area I am driving in!

It works but I’m disappointed in the reception . Not any better than the factory antenna on my freightliner.

Needed to buy longer mounting bolts. The stock ones were 3/4 of an inch too short.

What a difference from the little antenna on my big truck. Mounted directly to the factory mirror mount. Nice to have radio again in the mountians.

I have a radio on my shark fishing platform trailer, been having a hard time finding an antenna that would not only pick up stations at the beach well, but not pick up the interference off of all the LED lights I run at night. So far this antenna seems to pick up everything, even some stations I didn't know were around. It also maintains good pickup with ALL of my lightbars and the microwave running at the same time. I can't speak to it's corrosion resistence because I haven't had it very long, and I painted it anyway for extra security. The cable seems to be decent quality, station doesnt fade out if I grab it with my hand like the old one did. The mount plate looks to be 1/4" aluminum, but the bolts and nuts are not stainless as far as I could tell. Mine are now thx to Lowe's, no big deal. I mounted it around the 1" round tubing of my upper deck hand rail. I had to crank down on it pretty good because its about 15 feet off the ground going down the freeway @ 70mph and didn't want it to twist or slide. I was worried the aluminum plate might snap, but instead it actually bent a little and conformed to the round tubing which worked out well, more surface area grabbing the rail. So far no disappointments whatsoever.........

I mounted this on the right-side mirror of my F-350.I very much prefer the versatility and adaptability of a mirror-mount rather than the factory-supplied through-the-fender style. This mirror-mount antenna really looks "cool", as compared to a factory-issue antenna.I would have liked it to have been a couple feet longer, but that can be easily remedied.I also like the versatility of having a PL259 common C.B. co-ax connector at the antenna end of the cable, instead of being hard-wired straight into the antenna; this hybrid cable itself is worth more than the cost of the kit.The antenna itself screws onto a common C.B.-style fine-thread 3/8 stud, thus one can substitute any standard C.B. antenna.I am going to experiment with a Wilson 5000 (on a much stronger mirror-mount) and see what that does for weak-station reception; if that pans out, then I will have matching antennae on both sides of the truck, with no one being the wiser that they are supporting two separate systems. One minor adjustment had to be made to get the radio end to fit snugly into it's socket.I plugged this into the back of a Pioneer DEH-X6500BT.The outer diameter of the plug did not snugly fit into the Pioneer socket. There are three raised slits, much like fish-scales, on the perimeter of the antenna-cable plug.I poked a small screw-driver blade under each of the three "fish-scales" and raised them outwards a bit to achieve snug contact between the antenna plug and socket.I guess these raised protrusions were supplied just for such situations. The spring-loaded base is a vast improvement over the rigid spring-less factory unit.Reception is good, in fact better than most, just as supplied; plus, with having a standard stud at the mirror-mount, one has the option of swapping on a longer shaft. Thanks for reading.
