  • 24V Intermittent Pilot Ignition Control: The 780-715 opens the pilot of gas valve to initiate sparking and continuously monitors the flame throughout heating cycle; If flame fails, flame sensing shuts off the main valve until pilot flame is re-established
  • Reliable Ignition: Provides 3 to 4 sparks per second for 90 seconds, followed by a six minute time delay between ignition attempts; 1 1/2mA maximum total current load with 7/10 mA DC flame sensor current at 25C and 50/60 Hz control voltage
  • Energy Efficiency: Limits the pilot and main valve draw to 1 Amp at 1/2 power and a combined load of 1-1/2 Amps at 4/10 power factor; Easy installation provided by complete in-depth instructions
  • Quality Warmth: Robertshaw makes reliable controls and replacement parts for furnaces, water heaters, burners and boilers, including thermostats, switches, ignitor and heat pump controls, gas valves, and more
  • Capability Sets Us Apart: Robertshaw is a global design, engineering and manufacturing company that sells product solutions and makes more than 10,000 sophisticated controls for commercial and home appliances

The Robertshaw® 780 Series Pilot Controls feature flame rectification with solid-state logic and flame sensing to provide automatic sequencing that will ensure proper operation of an intermittent pilot ignition device. When the thermostat calls for heat, the 780 series control simultaneously initiates ignition sparking and opens the pilot valve portion of the gas valve. Pilot flame recognition stops ignition sparking and opens the main valve portion of the gas valve. Pilot burner flame is continuously monitored at a synchronous frequency for the duration of the heating cycle. Should the pilot flame fail during the heating cycle, the control will shut off the main valve until the pilot flame is established. The Robertshaw 780-845 lockout ignition control provides 90 seconds of spark, followed by a six minute time delay (purge) between ignition attempts. If the pilot flame is not sensed after three tries, the control goes into a one-hour lockout period. At the end of the lockout period, if the demand for heat is still present, the unit will repeat the three tries for ignition.Features and BenefitsReduces truck stock inventory, saving space and money. Easy-to-install with complete in-depth installation instructions. Pilot and main valves draw 1 Amp at 0.5 power factor. Combined load at 1.5 Amps at 0.4 power factor. 95% relative humidity noncondensing at 104°F

Bought this product in February 2024 and it fixed my furnace problem. They were professional and quick with response and delivery of part I needed. When i had issues with the part they were quick to refund my money. Even after the purchase warranty expired.I would highly recommend them and would certainly purchase from in the future.

We ordered this part a little over a year ago and it already had gone bad. Our furnace was out needing to replace this part again. Very cold in December and January without a furnace. The package was delayed multiple times, and the price went down 13% while we were waiting for it. Didn’t seem to care much about the needs of their customers

I bought this controller to replace an SP-715A model on my 30 year old Magic Chef 100,000 BTU high efficiency furnace. I checked the Robertshaw website to be sure the new model was compatible with the older one. My furnace was working intermittently, then finally the ignitor stopped. For installation I simply moved the wires over one at a time from the old controller to the same position on the new controller. Some of my wires were different colours than stated on the new control. The position of the wire is more important than the colour. My original control had a wire to the flame sensor. The new controller does not need the flame sensor in my application. The new controller worked perfectly, my furnace is working again.

My furnace wasn't working. I called a tech and he said that the cause was the ignition module but he thought the heat exchanger had a leak and I needed a whole new HVAC. I found a youtube video which explained how to inspect a heat exchanger. I did it myself and found that it looked great, in fact it looked new. So, I ordered this module, along with a new CO detector to be safe, replaced it myself and all is well. I saved a lot of money and hope to get several more years out of my HVAC system.
