Reversible ratchet mechanism is great for tapping very small holes, keeps from flexing and snapping small thin taps.saved my bacon 5 or six times already in a month.

I bought this tool to clean out some metric threads in my 2020 Ford Ranger. I had a spray in bed liner installed and the accessory mounting holes were not protected. I used the 8x1.25 mm tap and it worked great. It cleaned out the threads easily. Before I purchased this set I tried to just force a bolt through the obstruction and I couldn’t even get to the threads! The tap actually cut threads through the liner and I was able to find the factory threads easily. The quality of the tool is good and it worked smoothly.

I like every thing about my ratcheting T-handle. My only disliked was the fact that it took so long for me to buy one. This T handle is high quality, craftsmanship is very good and if you use it correctly, it should last you a lifetime. Highly recommended from mechanic of more than 35 years.

Only buy this if you hate yourself. The nut that tightens the chuck will strip if you ever try to use the tool. If you manage to actually get the tap tight and start using it, I guarantee you will break the tap off in the hole you are trying to repair. The only thing more fun than breaking off a screw head is having the tap break off into the same hole after you have carefully drilled it out. This happened on two occasions before I launched this sucker into the wall.Don’t buy this. It only makes your problems multiply. Absolute legendary level of garbage.

They are the correct dimensions, very sharp and good at what they do. Get a tap guide though because the handle is big and hard to line up perfectly perpendicular to the hole you are tapping. I like the ratcheting feature, but I just keep it in the middle position. You are supposed to back off half a turn for every full turn when you tap, so the ratcheting feature doesn't make sense to me.The chuck holds the taps securely with just hand tightness.

While trying to clean and replace some parts on my bike, I broke a downtube barrel adjuster leaving most of the shaft stuck inside a threaded cable stop. I tried using an ez-out to extract it, to no avail. I was able to carefully drill out the broken adjuster shaft and then use this wrench with the included M5 bit to clean out what was left over and chase the threads. I didn't need the ratcheting feature. Overall the job took about 15 minutes including drilling; I think all you need is a basic understanding of how to use a drill and how screws work to use a tool like this one successfully.I have no idea how this tool will hold up to repeated use. For simple one-off jobs like this I think it's a great value.

So I bought this specifically for the M3x.5 tap. I first drilled and tapped a piece of 1/8 flat stock but the threads came out really loose. not great. then I drilled into a 1/4inch square stock and it tapped fine until about half way down and it snapped. Did I use the wrong size drill, maybe. But mostly my complaint is the unit barely clamps down tight enough for the M3 tap. The tap fell out many times. I did like the handle comes out and the ratcheting system.. i'll use it later for my larger taps but it was not great for the M3.

Good for odd jobs and 3D printing, but it is not even remotely a precision tool. I look forward to using it and would buy it again.Pros:Great value for home-jobs and 3D printing. The ratchet mechanism and ball bearing work very well and help speed things up.Bits were oiled so no rust on mine. The handle breaks down into two pieces, so it doesn't take up a large space with awkward shape.Knurling on the handle pieces are good for grip without being sharp, and the palm rest is very smooth and comfortable. Very hefty weight for its size.Cons:The handle and bit together are visibly crooked. Two of the bits do not have size markings. The parts are not very consistently made in general, almost like they picked the acceptable bits from different products that didn't pass quality inspection.
