My new humidor came with an analog hygrometer. I read some reviews and consensus was that digital was the way to go. While deciding which digital hygrometer to order (this one) and then waiting for it to arrive I seasoned my humidor and also calibrated the analog hygrometer using the salt method. After calibrating it I placed it into my humidor mostly full of cigars with 69 rh boveda packs. After several days the humidor settled into a steady 69 rh that was displayed accordingly on the analog hydrometer.Enter this digital hygrometer. I unpacked it and placed it into the humidor. I gave it a day and it read 63 rh while the analog read 69 rh. I could be mistaken, but there does not appear to be any way to calibrate the digital one. I decided to conduct the salt calibration and let it sit overnight. The next day it read 72 (should read 75). I put the analog hygrometer with it and the analog settled at 75 while the digital one remained 72. Thus, I'm sticking with the analog hygrometer and returning the digital one.
