Worked great keeping all the herbs and spices from floating in my soup, but it is impossible to get clean

This infuser worked perfect for my needs. I used it to infuse more flavors into my soups and catsup for canning, without adding the mucilage that may make it unsafe for canning. I just chained it to my kettle handle and let it simmer. When finished it was also easy to clean as far as screens go. I'm happy with it!

I bought it for when I do chicken soup, it's so easy so I don't have to dig in the soup for the herbs!!

Where has this been all my life? I've spent years making anchovy broth and fishing out the little bits. This infuser is the perfect shape and size to fit anchovies and makes it so much easier and cleaner.

Great product to keep to spices or tealeafs seperated. Just the right size and easy to clean.Unfortunate this was shipped by TM LABEL in a plastic envelope supplied by Amazon with proudly mentioning on the outside that they saved a box. Well, it arrived dented. The mesh had come of the rim at one end and had to re-attach it some how. Better to use a box.

Yea, I wanted to try something like this for my dry spices because I enjoy making a lot of Indian cuisine. Nothing worse than enjoying a curry then biting into a clove or a cardamon pod. This solved that issue and works very well. Use a wok to heat them in oil at the shallow bottom, or dry roast them and then put them in this to stay with it throughout the slow cooking of the sauce. The long chain is excellent too, so you can attach it to handle or side of pan and pull it out easily when you choose.

I had some chopped bay leaves in my spice rack. The size of the pieces were too big to leave in the food but too small to be able to find and remove before serving. It isn't very convenient to try to find and remove any type of whole or chopped herbs after cooking. This infuser works perfectly for the bay leaves and would work for any similar herb or spice that you want to add while cooking but be able to remove from the finished product before serving. It is fairly large but the holes in the steel mesh are fine and it is heavy enough to stay submerged in the cooking liquid. It takes a little effort to clean it out and wash after use but that is to be expected. I have found it to be particularly useful in my electric pressure cooker when making soups, stews and cooking any type of beans. It is pretty sturdy and after many uses it is still in good shape.

I love this little infuser. It's about twice the size of the ball infusers I've used. I wanted something larger because I make tea by the gallon & the little ball infusers just don't do the job. This one works great. The clasp on top is easy to close, but so far has never come open accidentally. The hing is a little floppy when it's open but I've never had an infuser that wasn't a little floppy in the hinge. The chain is extra long, so I can hook it to the top of my gallon pitcher & still reach the steeping liquid in the bottom. I use it to make flavored teas, and my peppermint, lavender, hibiscus etc are all in loose form. This infuser worse great for what I need.

I use this for an alternate purpose, but can say that the clasp stays closed, it feels sturdy, and I think it would be excellent to use as an infuser!I actually use it to clean and sterilize pump membranes-- either by tossing them in the flatware holder of the dishwasher, or by putting it in a pot of boiling water when I choose to sterilize instead. The two strainer sides are held together on the hinge-side by a small c-clamp piece of metal- small but effective! The other side or clasp that opens is an L-shaped piece of metal. One part has a U-shape that is pressed over the two edges to keep it shut, and the rest of the "leg" of the L has a hole on it where a chain is attached so it can be hooked to the edge of a pot to keep it readily accessible. This is handy for me when boiling, as it's not great for the membranes to settle to the bottom of the pot, where the burner is hottest. I can hook them over the side, let them boil for a few minutes, or attach them in the dishwasher. Excellent!

this household consumes non stop soups and stews and "vats" of herb infused food. The name in this product is correct. It can endure high rolling boils and infuse every herb you put in it to perfection. It is a wee bit of a challenge to clean up but triple plus worth it! There is no way that I would put up with a cheese cloth and twine. This is not a gadget. Gadgets end up at the flea market. This is a necessary tool for quick cooking. stuff this baby to the top with whatever you want (cheese rinds, fresh messy tangled herbs, small herbs from shakers that are stale, the opening is huge) and just drop it in. it is more than large enough to fish out with a soup ladle and it can handle any amount that you are making from a couple cups to mega gallons. This has simplified the kitchen no more messing around with chopping herbs or wrapping herbs up. Would give it 6 stars if I could.

Brilliant, love this infuser, I enjoy cooking large pots of curry/stew and the size of this infuser is just great, I can get plenty of spices and herbs in, the chain is long enough for the biggest of cooking pots, the clasp is strange enough and tight enough to stop it opening and have not had any problems with this infuser at all. Whn open the hinges do seem loose, but are quite strong and again once closed it give no problems. Love it.
