I'm so tired of MDFanyway, the unit is a cantilever shelf and seems to hold up just fine even with bottles on it.I like that it's unfunished wood as I get to decide (though right now I just like it raw)this really is a nice looking, effective way to store stemwareI'm very pleased with the performance of theseboth the basket and liner are niceand the results have been very positiveBTW - these are great gift items too as I think a lot of home bakers use makeshift proofing baskets and it's a tool we maybe don't think of getting for ourselves...until we use themWhile this was sent to me for review, I take that job seriously. Getting people the wrong product is wasteful, irresponsible and a hassle for everyone.Not everything I review gets high marks -- BTW, I live in a high sales tax state, review items aren't exactly at-no-cost for me]

Hung it up on the wall and threw a few bottles of my homemade Mead up on it. Love it. Keeps the bottles out the way when they're ready to drink.It's sturdier than I thought and came with all the parts I'd need to mount it. 5/5 would recommend.

I was skeptical that the short brackets would properly support the weight of 5 bottles and glasses; especially only mounting on sheetrock without anchoring into studs. The racks come with sheetrock mounts that do a great job of securing them into the wall. I would suggest using a smaller drill bit than the threads of the sheetrock screws and drilling the hole where the screw will go. I tried putting it in without doing that and the fin at the tip broke in the sheetrock and I had to pull it out with needle nose pliers and pre-drill the hole with a bit that matched the shaft (not the thread) of those screws. I purchased two of these and the level that came with one of them was WAY off and I threw that level away. I do suggest you use a quality level and not the cheap one included. I really like the finished look and the newly available space in my cabinets now. No problem with the weigh of what's shown on these racks. I have two 1 liter bottles on each rack (so heavier than a normal wine bottle) and no problem with supporting it. No extra bracket required with proper mounting.
