This works pretty well but is too heavy for what it does. When you do a lot of vehicles is a year, the weight can be an issue when reaching over large hoods and roofs

What do I use it for? Repairing CD/DVD/Bluray discs. This buffer does a great job of taking optical discs that look like they have been used as coasters and makes them readable again. It's small and has what it takes to buff those scratches out.

Forget the car, get one for your body! Google to see many pages and videos on using car buffers for trigger point release, or to simply loosen up tissues etc. Much better than the no name brand purpose built devices which cost about 3 to 4 times more. Ryobi does not make a 220/240V version, however, 240V to 110V adaptors are available on Amazon etc, note that you need to convert both the voltage and the plug, this will self destruct if connected to 240V.

I have a 10 inch buffer that's fine for horizontal surfaces, but NOT for a 40-ft motorhome. It has four VERTICAL surfaces. I'm almost 80 years old and every once in a while it's necessary to touch up a few places on the motorhome with a wax/polish job. The Ryobi 6-in is perfect for the job. Not as big, perhaps, but I can easily hold it in one outstretched hand. Plenty of power. It is much easier to get into tight spaces with this smaller buffer, easier to change pads, and actually a joy to use. Never thought I'd say that! Buy it - you'll like it.

It has very good reviews, so I grabbed one! No regrets!Works as expected, it’s probably more for light duty buffing or polishing, but that’s why I got this one, along with a very reasonable price.Used it for applying wax and buffing some of my wood crafted products that I make & sell. I tried it on my truck and it worked okay for that as well.Probably wouldn’t use it on my boat, but I don’t need to, as I mentioned, I only need this one for light duty, which it’s suited well for, I have a much more expensive, more commercial buffer for heavier use and for my boat.I would buy another one, if I needed one.

Nice little device however after waxing 1.5 vehicles the foam pad ripped off which basically renders this useless.

Was what I expected. Nothing more or less in quality compared to something you’d buy at Canadian Tire, just cheaper

I bought this from Amazon on Aug. 8, 2015 for $39.95. Today. Aug. 24, 2015 the Amazon price is $33.99. The price today in Home Depot (in store or online) is $24.95. Ouch! I used this to polish the headlight lenses on our cars. They were only slightly oxidized and did not have that frosted glass look. It worked very well using a few different polishing compounds. It is very easy to handle and maneuver around. The backing plate is removable by removing a screw that is recessed in the center of the foam pad and then pulling it off from the motor shaft. The backing plate is made of plastic and has a multi-layered foam pad that is glued onto it. No hook and loop. I was unable to locate any replacements for this backing plate/pad, should the need arrive. The bonnets with elastic band fit well over the backing plate and stay in place. I plan to try doing the entire car with it, though I think a bigger buffer would make that job a bit quicker. I would buy this again, but at Home Depot. I could have saved $15 if I did that in the first place.
