Solids and liquid separated in the tube. I couldn't find directions to shake before using, but I would highly recommend doing so until it doesn't sound sloshy

Pulled off a great first-time mortar repair job on a gap on a row of bricks comprising the steps leading up to the porch. Since the gap was of good size, I used foam rod to pack a good part of the seam/crack and then used this Sakrete with excellent results. The gray was very close to the original, but I sprinkled some sand on time to further improve the blend. After a month of being in the weather, it's hard to tell the repair from the rest. Were I to do it again, I'd sprinkled in some black sand, too, to get an even closer match to the 20-year original mortar.

I have only needed mortar for small repairs like filling cracks in the block wall. It isn't worth mixing up a batch from dry product. This goes in my caulk gun and is easy to control. The only downside is that you can only store the opened tube for a short time before it dries out.

We recently uncovered a hidden chimney stack in an upstairs room and found many areas in need of repair. We cleaned out the failing grout areas and tried this product. We are happy with the ease of application and low mess especially considering it is being applied in a finished interior room. We have applied around 5 tubes so far and figure one more will take care of it. One tube we purchased from a local store was dried solid inside but that has been the only major problem. Sometimes the rock chunks inside are too large to fit through the applicator and it requires a clearing using the spike on the caulking gun.

Worked well, easy to apply, we'll see whether it stands the test of time, but so far it has applied well and lasted through winter.

Very inconsistent and messy. I bought 5 tubes. When I punctured the membrane on the first tube about an ounce of milky water ran down my bricks. I cleaned it up and began calking only to find out that it would alternate between mortar and more milky water. I called Quikrete's toll free number and spoke to Maurice. He told me that there was nothing wrong with the product and what I was experiencing was normal. That's when I realized there are no shortcuts. I returned 4 tubes and exchanged them for mortar mix. Don't waste your time and money.

Using this was pretty easy, but whatever you think you need, double it! These tubes do not stretch too far. Order lots!
