I wanted to love these. I typically love a2 pickups but these left me wanting. Don't get me wrong, for the price they are adequate. I just felt like they are a bit anemic and thin. These went into a neck through Ibanez so I was pretty surprised when a lost a bit of sustain.

extra star for being so cheap. they sound fine and resistance is as spec'd. wire is very thin, which may be trouble if wiring to split coils. i slapped them in a cheap chinese jazz box and they do a nice job.

I swapped out the pickups in my telecaster with these. They are much better than the stock pickups, both in terms of clarity and loudness. It is now noticeably louder than any of my other guitars. I put the Alnico V by the same brand in a different guitar, and I prefer these Alnico II pickups. Nice warm, glassy tones. Sounds at least as good as the name brand pickups that I've put in another guitar, which cost about six times as much.

I installed these in an LTD that had super hot pickups, too hot to use without distorting everything that I played it through. These pickups gave me an even, balanced volume with a reasonable amount of gain. They did exactly what I hoped they would. If you are a fan of letting the amp do the heavy lifting, and having versatile and clean output, I’d recommend these pickups

I really like these pickups. They are lower output being A-2 but that is fine for my setup and the tone is great. I did wax pot them just to be sure. I was very pleasantly surprised. I ordered another set.

I didn’t expect much from these, as I was putting them in an impulse-buy, inexpensive guitar with (infamously) microphonic pickups.These have really great character, and the kind of harmonically-rich, lower output sound you’d expect from an alnico ii set. The wiring is solid enough, and was easy to feed through the body. The included instructions took a minute to consider, but it all came together well with ease.I thought these would be swapped when I was ready to swing for something nicer, but I’ll leave them in. My custom tele with Lollars 15x the price will get a break for now.
