It can be used for indoor applications and projects as well. Zinc plated material grants oxidation resistance and grade 5 metal provides increased durability. Usually installed in tripod feet, satellite mount feet, antenna base, and mast or other mounts that penetrate roof or mooting surface, but might come in-handy in similar building projects. The screw features anti-reversing teeth under the cap washer for your convenient installation. Keep in mind that hardwoods should always be pre-drilled with a pilot hole, so our Lag Screw can be installed. In order to screw-in SatelliteSale lag bolts, we recommend using hex head drive 7/16, as the bolts hex head size is 7/16 accordingly. It's a good value for the money - and these lag bolts are well made, with sharp tips and edges. Remember to pre-drill a hole in wood that might split. Very important. For exterior use, I might recommend a little sealant applied to the lag bolt itself, like caulk or roof pitch, before turning all the way in.The three inch length is long enough to secure something tight to lumber, that's for sure, and reach through roof decking or wallboard.I have a good large supply at considerably less than one of the big box hardware stores.The box they came in does fall apart easily - it's very flaky cardboard and thin - so be prepared to put the bolts into a different container on arrival.

Review for: 'SatelliteSale' General Purpose 5/16" x 2" Lag boltThis is a box of (100) 5/16" x 2" hex head lag bolts. They are made from Grade 5 medium carbon steel with a zinc plating to help prevent corrosion, and they are rated for general purpose use.These are really handy to have around the house and can be used in a variety of different projects. My local big box store sells a similar lag bolt for about .38¢ so buying a bulk box of 100 can save you quite a bit.
