Once I figured out how to use this it was really good. Had to go online and watch a video.

I'm giving this five stars because of the quality. It comes as two pieces and you slide the metal jig into the base. The base has a nice grippy bottom which is helpful. I personally couldn't figure out how to use it but I'm confident it's user error so I can't remove stars for that. I tried with a couple of zippers but I think once I really need this tool I will just watch a video on YouTube like others suggested. Because of the quality I think this is going to be a good tool and will be for those who know how to use it.

This jig tool does work well to repair and/or install zippers. It shows in the description that it will work on a very small zipper in the illustrations, but I could not get it to work on a very small zipper on an item that I had to repair. It just didn’t fit well enough, I had to do it without the aid of this tool. There were no instructions included but there are instructions on the Amazon page. I printed them out so I have them as a reference. The jig is very easy to store, it is small and it slips apart to fit back into its box.

I do volunteer sewing where we repair clothing for disabled individuals. We get a lot of zippers to repair/replace. I saw this tool and the demonstration video made it look so easy to use. When it arrived the written instructions were just basic so I went back to check out the video to refresh my memory on how to use it properly. The product was no longer listed on Amazon. Even the website for the distributor didn't show it available.I'm sure it would be easier to use if I knew exactly how it is supposed to work. I'm disappointed.

I purchased this as a stocking stuffer for my wife. She does a lot of crafting and had seen a similar on that was handmade using a fork. Well I am not that crafty so I got her this one. She loves it and said it works as it should and it can be taken apart for storage when not in use. Recommend.

Another practical gadget for my sewing station. It makes installing zippers a breeze!

This zipper jig tool from Savina is easy to assemble out of the box. It's important to know how to orient the zipper pull (which should be face down) and the zipper coil should also be fed through the zipper head front side down. The stand of the jig is a nice hardwood and the jig is a durable steel that is curved and is set into the base via a slot. The base also has a gripping base to help it not slide around, but it wasn't that helpful, I'd say it's more not to scratch your table, more than anything. The main reason I got this zipper jig is because I have a portfolio case with a broken zipper, and I thought if I can remove the zipper and realign it with this tool and sew the zipper back in I'll have my portfolio case back good as new! This tool is really for zippers that do not have fastened ends, but it would be a good idea once the zipper head has been reattached to whip stitch the end so that the zipper cannot be inadvertently separated.I can give this item a 5-star review.

This is a neat, portable little tool to help insert zipper pulls onto zipper tape that you purchase in a roll. Although you can attach pulls without a tool like this, it really makes it way more convenient. The item is easy to store and to assemble. The bottom has a gripper-like base that technically helps to keep it stable by "gripping" the surface...in reality, the grippiness depends somewhat on the surface you are working on. It works really well on a tablecloth or a rougher wooden surface, I have found, but tends to slide a bit on a slick surface such as metal or varnished wood. I don't really feel this is a design fault because some surfaces are just not going to prevent slipping as much as others. This could perhaps be solved by using some painters tape folded over on itself (or double-sided tape) if the user doesn't have an adequate work surface or it could be attached to a table surface using a c-clamp. I tried it on several sizes of zipper tape/zipper pulls, both oil zippers and metal teeth zippers, and was able to get it to work on all after a bit of practice.I do have a zipper jig in my sewing shed that clamps to my work table. However, sometimes I tend to work in my house so I thought it would be convenient to have one inside as well, and the portability of this little jig is great. It seems to be well-made, using stainless steel for the jig area, and has a hardwood base. Although it is economically priced, it does not appear to be "cheaply" made. And I like the fact that it can be disassembled for portability, so I could even take it with me if I wanted to.Overall, I am impressed with this jig.
