Upgraded by Carol Shelby himself, showcasing Ford's short-stroke 289 cu. in. V8 engine under the hood of this modified British to American racer, the AC Shelby Cobra 289 was born to become a champion and became one of the most collectible cars. Just like Shelby, Bill Shepherd has felt the call to the race track since a young age and was hooked and started racing in the 1970s and was quite successful. After an eight year hiatus, he found his way back in 1986, realizing the potential of older cars and were easier on the pocket book, finding success in his niche. He saw decades of success in historic racing, and is now working and racing side by side with his son Fred at Bill Shepherd Automotive. Racing for Bill Shepherd, Romain Dumas, a two-time Le Mans winner could be seen behind the wheel of this 1963 AC Shelby Cobra at Goodwood in 2021 and would have placed first if it wasn't for the pesky late time penalty for pit-stop infringement.
