Your cart is empty. Scotty's #279 Bait Caster/Spinning Rod Holder holds a bait caster reel in a cushioned cradle. A slot in the front of the rod holder allows for a spinning reel to be securely held in position. The rod holder design has a side mounted flange, which leaves the bottom open. This allows for the rod holder to accommodate trigger grips. Pistol grip rod butts easily clear the sides of the rod holder for quick rod retrieval. Rod can be secured in holder with a soft latching strap which snaps over the top. No mount included.

This product is designed to be used with a Scotty #428 Gear Head Adapter which I purchased seperately. I bought 2 of these set-ups for my canoe and they work very well and are top quality polymer. You get what you pay for and didn't want to chance losing my rod/reels to a cheaper knock-off setup. Very happy with my purchase and would buy again/recommend.

This rod holder is nice and sturdy. The rubber strap is nice and allows it to accommodate different reel styles and sizes. Install takes two seconds, since it just clicks into the mount. I use this rod holder on my kayak and it's made fishing much easier.

I love Scotty rod holders. These things are sturdy and versatile. I fish from a kayak and have two mounted one in the front and one behind. The Scotty rod holders secure my gear and allow me to concentrate on river navigation without having to worry about my rods. They easily disconnect from my boat for transportation, no tools needed.
