This product is horrible broke the first time we tried using it in the water, the band snapped immediately while the fiber glass pole broke after the first shot. Absolutely 100% do not buy it

Cons:- Rusts very quickly even though I always rinse and dry my gear.- Rivets are annoying. I read reviews and didn’t think it’d be an issue. It is. Make sure to use gloves to save your hands. The rivets will catch on your gloves at the most inconvenient time.- Tip is very soft and dulls/bends easily. It also starts to corrode quickly.Pros:- Very light and compact- CheapHonestly, I would not buy this again. Spend a bit more on something better.

Received this a few minutes ago opened it and found really bad construction. The metal end where you attach the rubber band in the hole is bent, deformed hole, sharp edges and would cut the cord on the rubber band if I tried to attach. The carbon fiber the pole is made of, is all splintered sticking in the hole you should attach the rubber band to. The pole sides has scaring on the slide of the pole and missing the tip. This particular unit is basically trash, period. No redeeming qualities. Rated one only because there is no O

The metal juctions ends are assembled to the carbon poles with rivets and are mounted crooked so the spear ends up being very crooked when assembled. Overall, very bad quality. I usually don't write comments but I recommend avoiding this product!

I finally had a chance to use this spear this weekend. The size is great, and a few lobster and hog snapper, I thought this spear was great. Then I shot a grouper, and getting it out from the rock, the stick broke very easily. I couldn't find a replacement stick online, so I would have to buy a whole new spear. By the time you spend for two, you could have a good one. Not bad for the money if you know they break and are careful, it might be ok. I wont buy another, i will look for a good one.

Excellent spear. Good quality great price. Let's see how it fares after a tangle with a 20 pounder.

I had to clean out the threads initially but its screws together perfectly now. I took it out for the first time yesterday and I speared my limit of 20in tautog in just a few minutes. The point is very sharp and it passed through the fish easily. This spear would be great for beginners and experts. It allows me to get right up in the rocks where the fish hide. They can't pull off the flopper point. Once you shoot them, they're yours.

Great quality for the price well built and sturdy however the end is hollow and fills with water when you get in and drains whenyou get out other than that no complaints acurate as hell.

The best spear I have used ever. I own another one piece fiberglass spear and it has too much flex the carbon fiber eliminates this completely. Tried a similar aluminum spear and it was way too slick, impossible to hold drawn with gloves. One mod I did on my spear is wrapped the middle section in thin cord about half inch spaced apart and covered it with electrical tape this way it makes it easy to hold loaded. The single tip work extremely well for holding fish, have use the paralyzer tip but it is not as effective. The only thing with this spear you have to make sure that it is tight as a three piece it tends to loosen over time. When the spear is taken down it fits neatly inside the pouch and goes inside the kayak, should fit about any hatch.Update July 2018, my spear broke. The metal other the tips had rusted and when I put sideways pressure while pulling up a fish the end segment snapped at the connection. This was something I was expecting and it did last me a few years. I still recommend the spear but you should be aware of the rusting issue and dry it out after each use.

Have yet to test this but it seems quite well built. The rivet on the side of the metal join sections doesn't look particularly robust but if it goes then it could easily fixed. Spear is very light and the flapper barb is quite long and very sharp. Definitely worth the money. will post a follow up review once I've tried it
