A LITTLE TRICKY TO PREP THE HEAT TAPE FOR THE SPLICING BUT WITH A COUPLE ATTEMPTS GOT THAT FIGURED OUT. THE HARDEST PART IS SPLITTING THE ACTUAL INNER WIRE THAT DOES THE HEATING. IT IS STIFF/HARD TO CUT AND YOU HAVE TO KEEP FROM CUTTING TOO CLOSE TO EITHER WIRE. PATIENCE AND A SHARP UTILITY KNIFE AND A MINI PRECISION SIDE-CUTTER DID THE JOB.DID NOT THINK THE CRIMP-ON CONNECTORS THAT CAME WITH KIT MADE A GOOD ENOUGH CONNECTION TO THE HEAT WIRE SO I INSTEAD USED REGULAR INSULATED FEMALE SPADE TERMINALS.THE BOX IS NOT WATERPROOF (AND THEY TELL YOU SO) BECAUSE THE CORD CONNECTORS AREN'T. PUT THE BOX INSIDE A CORD PROTECTOR "FOOTBALL" WITH THE CORD/HEAT TAPE OUT THE ENDS-WORKS. PLUGGED IT IN AND WORKS GREAT--SAVED REINSTALLING HEAT TAPE. YOU CAN ADD A SEPARATE PLUG IN THERMOSTAT CORD FROM RADIENT OR "FEECOON" ON AMAZON. HAPPY RESULTS.
