We had raccoons wreaking havoc with our trashcans for weeks. Tried cords and straps and the little thieves always seemed to be able to figure them out or straight chew through the material. Bought these on a whim and they have been a god-send. Easy to install and maintain. They went on with little issue as long as you have the right size drillbit. Have watched the raccoons on the porch camera trying to get into the cans and not being able to. These definitely do the job. I can't say if they would keep bears out, but the trash pandas are definitely out of luck at our house!

The neighborhood wildlife will need to find another free buffet! The installation was quick and easy. One star was deducted because, the latches worked perfectly off the bin but, once installed, the buckle does not latch without wiggling the strap end just so. I am dissappointed with the difficult engagement of the latch versus the cost and hope that they will wear in. My household will complain vociferously about how hard it is, as they have not had the pleasure of cleaning up after an animal. Hopefully it will be overridden by last nights comedic drama as an increasingly frustrated racoon attempted to gain entry to our trash bin. Better yet, my wife can no longer tell me that we did not have a racoon getting into the trash. I purchased these latches over other products because the ease and simplicity of the seat belt style latch should make it more likely that my family will actually use them and for the trash collectors to not just pass us by because they have been inconvenienced. As long as they are latched these straps will take the abuse and stay closed. By the end of the 2 hour enrichment activity, the racoon was biting and clawing at the straps and pounding the trash bin on the drive. The only damage is three small punctures in one strap that do not concern me.

These are very sturdy, easy to use, and keep a variety of wildlife out of our garbage. We have a round top pull off lid, so we just used two latches, one on either side. Works great!!!

After listening to a bear wrestle with this for 10 minutes one night, I was nervous to go out in the morning and see the damage. Despite having been dragged 25 feet from outside our kitchen door to our driveway, and significant bite marks, the lock held! They still managed to get a couple things out by creating a gap in the lid, but significantly less mess than the last time pre-lock. Plus, it is so easy to take garbage out and unlock the lock with one hand. I’m very happy.
