I ordered this one as the one I have has slightly raised measurement markings on it and I wanted something slicker.This mat is extremely thin, think slightly thicker than stick on shelf liner. It does have a slight texture that I wasnt expecting. It has a single hole for the needle which I cut larger so my feed dogs were showing. It is very sticky.For more than twice the money I spent on my other one, I was expecting something thicker, slicker and sturdier than this, especially as it is "brand name" and not a knock off like many other.

I was previously using a Sew Steady slider but it doesn’t stay sticky for as long as this one. The teflon mat is a little difficult to install because it is so sticky but once it’s in place it holds. I just have to pull up the front of the mat to change the bobbin and the mat will stick back down, no problem.

This item is a game changer for free motion quilting. It adheres well and is smooooth. It comes in a tube so it will be easy to store when I'm finished. Great value and quality.

I just got an Elna machine with an extention table, and just got in to a bit of quilting. This slide mat is great for free-motion quilting. Easy to use and easy to store.

My Sew Steady Free Motion Glider is about 15 years old and has ‘glided’ my competition quilts through many, many hours of intense free motion quilting. After all those years and hours, the edges of the needle opening is pretty raggedy through my own carelessness in not placing it correctly. All four edges still adhere perfectly, the whole surface still clings are well as its first use, the whole surface is still as slick and slippery as when first opened and I have never had any part of any of my quilts get caught on any part of the glider. It has never occurred to me, nor have I ever had a need to tape the edges down as some have complained. It is very easy to store safely in the tube in which it arrived. Lifting the needle edge to change the bobbin is a minor issue compared to the quality of quilting it helps me achieve.I am finally taking the leap to replace it only because of the “my fault” raggedy edges of the needle opening. But I am keeping my original for just in case the new one has changed in any way from the original!

Bought to make my wife's quilting job easier, she says it really helps shoving a queen size quilt through the machine. Having put two of them fully through production, it has held up fine and certainly a whole lot better than what I thought it might when I opened it.It's hard to put a figure on it, but she says she would estimate that it cuts the drag by about 25%, which is significant on the arms when running that much fabric through a machine so many times. Perfect adhesion to the sewing machine extended bed, though I don't think you'd want to put it on and off many times as the adhesion would slowly give out.

It works but is not as slippery as the supreme slider. Maybe because this seems to have a little texture to it and the SS one I have is perfectly smooth

I've had a pink Super Slider for a long time and bought this one because I couldn't find the other and this was so much larger. I love the size, even though I wish it was even larger. It's really easy to use. Be sure to save the tube it comes in (no sword fighting with it!!!) so you can store it when you aren't using it. It adheres easily to the bed of my Bernina, to my Sew Steady acrylic table insert, and to the surface of my sewing table as well as the cutting mat I keep on the table next to my insert. It is easy to take up as well. I just roll it up and clip it with two wonder clips then slide it into the tube to store it.It works really well, too, which is the main thing. Now if only it was as large as the top of my Gidget I sewing table from the right side of my machines table to the left side of the sewing table! or if they made a larger one that could bridge from my sewing table to the support surfaces beyond it, that would be a happy thing.Mine is the white one and does not have the markings on it. I thought that the colored one would be distracting and I didn't see the need for the markings since I'm only using it for quilting. Your mileage may vary. You can't go wrong with the Sew Steady mat.
