Two people make assembly easier, but not necessary. I put this together by myself. A rubber mallet is helpful. Instructions are not 100% clear. Numbers on the parts are not clear at all. It seems sturdy. I will be attaching it to my deck. Let’s see how it makes it through the summer.

The frame of the sunshade was not very well constructed. There were several unintended bends in the tubing which required some strong finessing to get them to fit together.Additionally, the pre-drilled holes were in the wrong locations in more than one instance so I had to drill my own. If you're relatively handy you can eventually get the frame together and it does seem sturdy enough once complete. The actual fabric sunshade, however, is not great quality at all. I made it about a month of good use before some minor wind started a tear in the fabric. A light summer rain was enough to pool on top and rip the fabric clean off the border making the sunshade completely ineffective.I'm hoping Shelter Logic can make right with a replacement shade.UPDATE: Shelter Logic has issued a replacement shade very quickly. I think the shade itself needs a bit of reinforcing, but I'm increasing the stars for the stellar customer service.

I wanted a cover over my exterior A/C unit. This will certainly do that job and more. It appears to be sturdy enough to handle a little sun, wind and rain. It is not easy to put together if you're not mechanically inclined. But no real tools are needed. Tried to proceed with a plan of one area, then the next. Worked pretty well. I was so, so tempted to put it all back in the box a couple of times, but had a beer and things worked out.Follow-up. All up and looks great and works fantastic!! Highly recommend, but be patient with the project. Much can be one person, but eventually the weight and awkwardness will require you to reach out for a second pair of arms!

This item did fit the bill nicely for us, the size was perfect for our deck, to keep sun out of our master bedroom. Assembly was no issue, except one of the pipes had holes incorrectly drilled. This was the centerpiece in the 10' side of the frame and holes were NOT aligned. Off by around an inch. There was no way this thing was going together with the holes as drilled. Luckily I have a drill press and was able to drill new holes. Still...

UPDATE: It survived Beryl without a single tear or snap. because i understand the weight of water i had reinforced the canopy with a bungee net and put a 6 ft long 3/4” pvc pipe and 2 metal bars on the cross beam. The canopy is fabric held up like a champ and the frame is as sturdy as the day i bought it.Water is really heavy. Don't expect a tarp to survive a massive rainstorm south additional support. This frame will outlive almost any other frame in this price range. The tarp is easily replaceable.my previous shelterlogic purchase was the 10x10 canopy - i used it as a shed for my dog over his dog house. it’s as great protection in the texas sun AND it saved my dog’s life when a nearby tree dropped a huge HUGE BRANCH on top of the canopy & dig house - the frame did not even bend. and my dog was unharmed. WIN!so when i was looking for a lean to canopy i saw this and waited til it went on sale. for the money this canopy is a great deal. granted the actual cloth will probably last one season but i intend to replace it with one of those green greenhouse cloths with the thread running thru.for added support i bought a cargo net that stretch to about the size of the canopy. this will help extend the life of the cloth by minimizing rain pooling. it was $25 well spent i think

This shelter fits perfectly over my sliding door. Easy to assemble. Frame is solid and paint coating is well done.

Only wish I found this one first. Might be a bit more cash but works great. Fits like a glove just under our deck eve. Solidly built should last a long time. Love the toggle like ties easy to use. It says takes 2 to build would have made it easier but I did build it myself. Ties are elastic bungie like so they likley will need to be changed over time. I can see this as the only negative.

Pros: strong, sturdy in southern Alberta wind.Cons: confusing to assemble, top pools water, then leaks when it rains. Legs were super awkward and weird leaning when assembled. Had to really stretch them against their natural way to get the shelter to stay even. All in all worth the money. Have 2 people for easier assembly. Push rain pools off often when it rains.

This product is one to skip I’m afraid. Save your money - the seller will not help you when their product fails within 90 days.First of all it’s not *that* easy to assemble. Several parts of the metal framework were slightly bent when the arrived making it very difficult to slot together. WD40 and a lot of determination were required and I still couldn’t quite get every joint to fit perfectly. Nevertheless the framework was sturdy.Initially this looked great on our SE facing deck providing shelter from the strong sun of Philadelphia’s late summer, and allowing us to still use the deck in light to modest rain fall. The problems started with the first thunderstorm that brought heavy rain. While the canopy, pulled taught by numerous bungee cords is supposed to readily drain down hill, the middle section starts to bow inward during heavy rain forming a reservoir that rapidly captures large volumes of rainwater (multiple cubic feet) and does not drain without being lifted upwards manually.During the second thunderstorm since installation the fabric of the canopy started to tear the grommets due to the weight of the rainwater it had captured and now looks unsightly with an ugly gash where the canopy is torn on one side. The sellers are not interested in replacing or repairing, or offering any ideas how to improve the drainage from their product. Basically ‘it’s on you - tough luck’.So unless you live in Arizona or Palm Springs and thus tend to get a thunderstorm and heavy rain skip this product it’s not fit for purpose for 90% or more of the climatic conditions of the country. If the canopy tore after three years weakened by blazing hot sun and downpours that would be one thing, but this product lasted exactly two Philadelphia thunderstorms before going kaput - beyond disappointing.
