I ride pretty hard. The burning rubber smell is not agreeable. Normal street riding should be ok.

These breaks work perfect! Specially after cleaning the wheel from any Grease or oil. They stop your bike on a dime. Cheap but worth every penny. Plus they look great. They dont squeak when breaking. And super simple to install. Would buy again.

I’m new to maintaining my own bike and picked these because they looked similar to my current brake pads.I simply unbolted my old ones and put the new ones in their place. I used all the washers and the nut from the previous brakes (making sure I kept them in the same order) for the sake of simplicity.Install took less than 10 minutes. So far, so good.

When mounted onto the brake arms only 3 threads were left to engage, which is the minimum for a bolted joint. During tightening one nut stripped out and had to be replaced. This may be user error, but I prefer nuts that I can tighten from the outside. On initial ride they are squeaky, which may resolve.

These are the pads against which all others are judged. They have a firmer compound and last a long time, tho with some occasional noise due to the pad density. All pads of this type are finicky to install- they have a rotating nuckle which allows the pads to be installed flat to the rim. Best install method is to ease the pretension on the brake cable, loosely tighten, then squeeze brake lever lightly, then wiggle the pad around to proper orientation, then tighten, then ride once, then (if necessary) repeat to perfection. I don't think I have ever been satisfied with the very first attempt-

I used these to replace the Tektro 836.12 MTB- Brake Pads on my Trek FX Seven. One (22.5" / 57 cm). They seem to work well so far!
