This is a genuine Shimano product, very well made. Nicer than your standard shifter cable, it is coated with a thin slick plastic coating. Not sure if it's ptfe, polyethylene, or other, but it runs smooth and works well. Better than what my local bike store stocks. Definitely worth it.

Got this to replace a cable on my gravel bike, quality was so good I bought 2 more to replace one on my Mountain Bike and 1 more as backup. The Optislick coating is not a gimmick and the cable does perform better than other ca les.
