Very good entry level clipless pedals. They grip your shoes tight. Kind of stiff when you first start using them, but they can easily be adjusted for easier removal.

Super Pedal von Shimano. Schon vor 15 Jahren bin ich dieses Model mehrere Jahre ohne Probleme gefahren und bin bisher mit dem aktuellen Model ebenfalls sehr zufrieden.

Got these pedals for my Peloton bike since I already owned shoes with shimano clips and could not put look delta clips on my shoes. Also, I liked my shoes better than the peloton ones. These pedals work well. My shoes clip in nicely, tight, very little movement. Would definitely recommend these if you are looking for shimano pedals for a stationary bike.

I bought these pedals thinking that the first time of get on them I would 100% fall and break my skull in half... But that obviously didn't happen (YET) but it will happen and its normal. Anyways let me tell you something's to back up my review. I started with normal platform pedals pretty much on every bike I ever sat on, for YEARS, But there was never that feeling of efficientcy very rotation of the crank. I then tried out straps on the platform pedals but the straps were a very good option for me because I have a very wide foot and I found it very difficult to put my foot Into the strap, which led to me almost getting ran over several times. After those headaches I tried out Toeclips with different avenir pedals and I really like the toeclips and have nothing bad to say about them. Anyways I have some rich snotty friends who ride Bianchis and leaders, and full carbon track bikes ETC. and they all bugged me and telling me I should try out Clipless pedals well I took there advice and looked for relatively inexpensive clipless pedals and I looked and looked everywhere possible and had many decisions but I picked these Shimano PD M520 pedals and I have had a lot luck becaus I haven't fallen yet😄The pedals are great looking and are easy to clip in. Especially for beginners you have a 3mm Allen key bolt to adjust whether you want a very high tendon or low tension to clip in and I obviously have it in the lowest setting. But anyways everything about these pedals is great and I don't ever regret buying these pedals. And they look really nice on my Fixed gear hope that helps your decision!

Years ago, one of my first forays into the world of clipless pedals was on an earlier model of this pedal. I bought these a few months back for my commuter bike to replace a set of cheap platforms with cages on them. The cage pedals worked pretty well, but wore out shoes with alarming frequency. While commuting with these means that I have to carry an extra pair of shoes, at least the shoes I carry are preserved, and the increase in pedaling efficiency and comfort has been well worth it. These pedals are solid and easy to clip into and out of, and because they are double sided I spend very little time hunting for the correct foot placement before clicking in.The double-sided feature may be helpful if you are experimenting with clipless pedals for the first time. In addition, for those who are a little nervous about having your feet connected to pedals, these adjust very easily and have a fair amount of float for knee comfort. If you like your pedals very tight these may disappoint, but going from very loose to medium tight is a quick and simple matter of a few turns with an allen wrench. The one drawback for some may be that these use old-style SPD cleats, which have a considerably smaller contact area than clipless road bike pedals. While it has never bothered me, I've heard some complain of hot spots on their feet as a result.Bottom line, these pedals are inexpensive, well built, easily adjustable and easy to use.

In the short amount of time I have had these pedals I have only used them a couple of times (due to inclement weather). The few times that I have used them I have noticed a MASSIVE difference in the amount of effort I have to exert while pedaling. Before I get into the pros and cons, a couple of things to know: 1.) I haven't ridden my bike in 3 months because of winter weather (rain, snow, cold, etc); 2.) I own a TREK 3700, and as such, I purchased these pedals with the intent to use them on the trail; 3.) I use Pearl Izumi X-Alp Enduro shoes; 4.) I bought these pedals now so I could get used to the feel of them before riding the trails in the spring/summer; 5.) I routinely ride with others who use road bikes.Since that is out of the way, here is my opinion: 1.) Compared to what I have seen with road bike pedals, the learning curve for entry/exit on these pedals is much lower; I learned the clip-in/clip-out method very quickly 2.)The adjustable tension is a great feature. I have my pedals on the lowest setting until I get used to using them. Haven't decided if I will increase it or not 3.)Even with the tension at the lowest setting, my feet feel as though they are securely in place while pedaling (up and down strokes); 4.)The pedals are wide enough that if I am not clipped in for whatever reason, I can still pedal; albeit without much power, but it will get you out of the way if you are crossing the street after being stopped (red light, stop sign, traffic, etc). 5.)The pedals are dual sided entry which is very convenient 6.)It was extremely easy to install these pedals 7.)The pedals really have made a big difference in how long I can ride before exhaustion begins to set in. 8.)Price is hard to beat, especially with a set of cleats included. 9.)I have read where people say these pedals are heavier than the M540s, etc...Well, they are heavier than the stock pedals that came with the bike, but I don't think the weight is so much that it will make a difference for the average riderAll in all I have been happy with my purchase. On the road, the pedals have been helpful in keeping up with the people I ride with using road bikes. I did research for about a month before I purchased these pedals. And lots of people really like them, as do I. I will try to update this review when I start trail riding again, but that is months away...so until then, I will keep using them on the road.
