My son alternates between this one and a long-sleeve version between practices. He likes to wear this sometimes as he feels it keeps him cooler than the long-sleeved one and keeps him a little more comfortable. The protection on these is excellent. The shirt itself is the perfect base for his chest/shoulder components, and the neck guard is built in and circles his neck perfectly. This brand provides all of the best under pieces in my son's set. Highly, highly recommend. The medium fits my 8-year-old perfectly.

This fits my 8 year old perfect and is an alternative to his long sleeve shirt when he might want to wear short sleeves and throw on his other shirt that does not have the neck but has arm protection.Good quality, does not shrink when washing and gives him nice integrated neck protection without having to wear the bulky neck guard.
