Install: Unscrew old, screw in new. Simple. Doesn't require special tools or special talent.Reception didn't increase over the current shorty as I had hoped. It is taller than the current shorty. But the OEM gets in the way all the time.

This review is for Short Antenna Compatible for Harley Davidson Electra Road Glide Ultra Limited Classic Tour Pack 1989-2024| Motorcycle Antenna Accessories Replacement | Designed for Optimized Radio ReceptionI got this for my 2014 Harley Davidson Tri Glide Ultra Classic. I also tested the fitment on my friend's 2014 Electra Glide Ultra Classic. Unfortunately, I failed to get a picture of the antenna on the bike, both before modifying the hardware I have, and after.First off, if you want the antenna to screw all the way down, flush with the bike (at least on our 2014 bikes), you will need to modify the stud by cutting it a bit short, as the stud bottoms out inside the base of the antenna. At some point, Harley swapped to a stud that sits down inside the antenna hole, and then is secured in place by another bolt going through the middle, so the included hardware will not work (at least on our 2014s). I am not sure which years it will be different, so check your bike to see which stud you have. Look at the picture for comparison between studs (left is Harley, right is a stud that came with this antenna). The antenna itself looks ok. Not really much to say about it, it's an antenna with what feels like a rubber finish, similar to one you would have on a handheld radio. I could hear a difference between no antenna, and this antenna, but I was not able to hear a difference between this one and the whip antenna that was on the bike already. The bike does look a lot better with this antenna on it though, instead of the whip antenna, so it's worth it. just takes some effort if your hardware is the same as mine.Overall, if you don't care about there being a gap between the bike and the bottom of the antenna, you can just screw it onto the stock stud and be done with it, otherwise you will have to modify the stud. You also might be lucky that your bike has different hardware, and it will fit flush out of the box, or can use the included stud to mount your antenna.I would give this antenna 4 stars if it worked properly on 2014 HD bikes out of the box, but since it doesn't, and I had to modify the stud, it gets 3 stars.
