I installed and use this product type on my boat for a number of years now. It seems to do its job keeping water separated from the gas and visible in the plastic bowl so you can drain. I keep several spares of both filters and bowls on my boat at all times in case I have a fuel issue out at sea. Suggest using an LPS or similar rust inhibitor spray over filter, etc to repel salt water and always rinse with fresh water and re-coat as needed. I also replace everything 1-2 times a year depending on your use (it's inexpensive enough to do that).

Sucker leaks around the bowl. It basically won’t tighten up enough for the oring to seat against the filter. I tried a new oring and it still leaks all the way around the bowl.

Works as advertised was able to see water contamination and drain it before engine sensor shuts down motor
