I knew this was a slip on and not threaded, as my spout is, but I watched a few videos and thought I would be able to do the conversion. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure that out, so I'm a little bummed, but that does not take away from the quality and attractiveness of this tub spout. It's solid metal, not plastic, and the side secondary connection is really what I liked. I haven't given up on this design, although it seems to be restricted in my area, I'm going to continue to try and figure out the conversion from threaded to slip on spout.

I got this to give my toddler baths in the bathtub and it most certainly is helpful and makes bathtub fun and quicker. The spout came with all the necessary tools and accessories to install it. The installation was quite easy and there were no leaves of fitting issues. The spout itself looks good but I had to buy an additional cover plate to install between the spout and the wall to make it look pretty. Maybe it's just my bathtub spout that had issues with a longer copper pipe. Once it was completely installed it looks and works great.

I’m so happy I found this. It’s the first one that hasn’t had a problem within the first week or two of heavy use.It was super easy to install and has all the footings and adapters I needed to make it fit and work perfectly with my existing plumbing. No leaks and no cheap flimsy parts. The spout is solid and so are the parts inside it that divert the water to engage the shower head. The shower heads and hose are quality too. They are solid and made with good quality materials, mostly stainless steel. I’m very happy.Highly recommended

We have a house made in the 80s or so, not after maybe before and this fits the copper piping fairly well. No real issues and the spout works as intended and was easy to install. Been on for a few weeks with no issues and it is still working as is with daily use.

When I ordered it was sure if I had measured things correctly so this would fit. It does and it wasn't as hard to replace as I thought it would be.

This item looks great, functions fine when used in the nondiverted state. When the diverter handle is lifted to use the showerhead, however, there's a steady trickle of water that gets inside the body of the spout that then trickles out the back of the spout. Currently looking at other spouts, because this one is aggravating.

The spout works and looks nice. There were no instructions but assembly should be obvious to anyone that is handy. The listing states that it is “ALL METAL” on one of the images, and while the outside is sturdy metal, internally it’s all plastic parts. The old one also had internal plastic tubing and parts so apparently this is normal. Hopefully it holds up okay. When the diverter is not engaged, water comes our of both the main spout, as well as the side connection (see photos). This may not be an issue if one has a shower wand permanently attached and keeps it above the level of the spout. If one does not keep a shower wand attached, they may want to cap the side connection when it’s not in use. There was an issue that did require attention for best performance. The way the internal parts fit together had a lot of slop which can cause some leaking out the back side (wall side), particularly when the diverter is engaged. This is due to the slot that the tightening screw goes through being is in the wrong location, such that the parts do not fit together enough to engage the o-ring seal. I remediated this by backing out the screw, tightening the threaded internal part to where it makes a proper seal, then marking where the set screw should go. I then drilled a hole in that location. The worked great so the seal is now abutted again the parts properly.

This tub spout with diverter is well made and a needed option for installing showers.Especially in older homes where ripping up the wall to install a shower-in-tub is a chore.I got this spout for that reason. I wanted to place a shower in my mom’s tub without damaging her nice tiled bathroom. However, one problem exists that is not the fault of the manufacturer. This tub spout with diverter works with 1/2 inch copper tubing, nothing else. And it needs a minimum of 1.5 inches of tubing to work.Note. There are two types of piping. One is threaded pipe. The other is copper tubing. So, the problem is this. You need to know what type of pipe is coming out of the wall. To do that, you have to remove the tub spout. You will find the spout is firmly in place. But you should be able to remove it by turning it counterclockwise. You might need to use a wrench to get it started. If so, protect the fixture with a cloth placed on it. Then, use the wrench to remove the spout. With a little effort, the spout should come off.I said, should. That is not what happened in my house. The spout was on so tight that I had to use a wrench and a lot of effort to remove it. After removing the spout, I found that the connection was copper tubing. And not a threaded pipe. But the tubing had twisted and broken off. The remaining section was just over 1.5 inches. After much work, I did get the spout on the tubing. But the tubing was slightly disfigured when it broke. And the connection leaked. Finally, I had to abandon this method of putting in the shower and use a different spout.Again, not because of a problem with the spout but because of the work of the previous installer of the old spout. To date. I have no idea what was used to seal the connection because I cannot get it out of the spout. This tub spout was put on too tight. And could not be removed without destroying it or the tubing.Lessons To Take From My ExperienceDo your best to determine the type of pipe you are dealing with. But you may not find out until you have removed the spout. So, check first before ordering this part.Next, the spout may not come off easily. If it does not, you may have to consult a plumber. But if the spout comes off easily. Then you are golden. One last thing. Even though my piping was copper, it had a 3/8 threaded section soldered onto the pipe. That 3/8 threaded part meant. This spout would not work unless I cut the pipe. If you face this problem, and you are not experienced in this type of plumbing work.Consider consulting a plumber. My RecommendationThis is a good product and will do the job.Just make sure it will work in your plumbing situation.
