PROS:- includes VND, CPL, mist filter, cap, adapter, carry case, and polishing cloth in one set.- magnet design makes swapping filters quick and easy.- build quality.- carry case fits larger filters (82mm thread NISI filter fits in no problem).- good image quality (doesn't colour the image too much)- mist filter produces a very strong blooming effect on highlights (this is a purely stylistic preference).CONS:- cap doesn't fit on the VND. You can put the cap over the CPL or the mist filter but not the VND (silly design choice). The VND is much larger than the other two.- The system isn't stackable. The VND doesn't lock into place if it's not the first filter. You can still place it over the CPL or mist filter but it will spin independently making it difficult to change VND stops with one hand. The CPL and mist filter don't fit over the VND.- Price (considering the system is only available in 67mm and doesn't fully stack).

Works great on both a cell phone with a cage or on a lens that has a 67mm thread (or using a converter). The filters are really nice quality. Physically they are textured on the outside to make them very easy to adjust and move, and the magnet on them are super strong. When I was testing them and removing them, they actually were strong enough to pull my zoom lens in and out, and it's a fairly stiff lens. The filters come with a nice bag that can be used for other filters also, a microfiber cloth, and a lens cap. The bag is pretty bulky since it offers a protective layer between each filter. The filters aren't usable unless you have a magnet mount, they don't have threads on them to mount in just in case you misplace your magnet mount.I found little color shifting using the ND filter, though there was some. The CPL worked great. The Black Mist filter was subtle in some lighting scenarios while a lot more apparent in others. The sample picture was just a quick bounce flash image and you see some softness and diffusion on the ON picture. I walked around and depending on the size of light source, or position I was able to get some pretty crazy diffusion effect. The black mist wasn't my favorite because diffusion is something that's very easy to do in post and control it, but it was pretty awesome just getting a what you see is what you get solution.I like these filters a lot. They work great on both a normal camera lens or a Cellphone with a lens thread adapter. They are easy to use and are built well.

Smallrig does a very good job of summing up what’s included in their 5-in-1 Magnetic Filter Kit and explaining its capabilities. The kit, that includes the three filters, lens cap and the magnetic adapter ring, are all stored in a quality zippered pouch, that features a belt loop. The magnetic adapter ring is the only one that is threaded, allowing it to be attached to any 67mm threaded interface, be it a lens or an adapter ring to fit a phone cage.Since the adapter ring and filters don’t have usable front threads, stepping-up from 67mm isn’t possible, however stepping up from a lower size is doable. For example, using a 62 – 67 step-up ring allows the use of the kit on a lens with 62mm front threads. And of course, step-up rings can be stacked, at least until vignetting becomes an issue. I’m always looking for ways to increase the versatility of the various filters I own, especially those very useful ones that are include in the Smallrig 5-in-1 Kit. And of course there is also the benefit of Smallrig quality; I own a number of their accessories and have always found them to be of a reliable company with high-quality production standards at the forefront of innovation. The included filters are a perfect fit for me. I’m not big on diffusion or creating effects post-production; the 1/4 Black Mist filter is just right for taking the edge off of overly processed videos and photos without being particularly noticeable. A VND is essential for video work, and shooting still images with fast lenses wide open, as I do. And I shoot almost everything with a polarizer on the lens; like I said, this kit was made for me.The three filters are stackable in any combination, although the VNDs front element is larger than 67mm, so neither of the other two filters can be attached to the front of it; it will always need to be at the forefront of a stack. Otherwise, in the correct order, all three can be stacked, or used in any of the possible combinations. On the other hand, the magnetic adapter ring can be threaded onto any other 67mm filter of the user’s choice, e.g., stacking the VND onto a fixed ND to increase its range. In any event, there are many creative and technical uses for the included combination of filters; it’s a kit of what I consider to be the essentials. The magnetic system makes it quick and easy to remove, add or change filters, and eliminates the fumbling that can occur when urgency is required. I took a look through the Smallrig Store and it appears that this 5-in-1 Magnetic filter Kit is the genesis of a filter system that we may see additions to in the future. I hope so. One idea would be to add a couple of fixed NDs that can be used to increase the range of the kits Variable ND. For example, by adding an ND8 (3-stops) the VNDs range would be increased from 1 to 5-stops, to 4 to 8-stops, not an uncommon range when shooting video. Other than that, as I’ve already alluded, the Magnetic filter kit includes a selection of basic, but essential filters for all-around versatility in a convenient format.

What I Like - Super easy to install and to use. Easy to switch out and makes switching lenses very user friendly. The bag is a nice touch to keep them organized. A really neat product for the iPhone photographers out there. What I Don’t Like - Nothing Yet.

This kit is great, except for one major flaw. The included lens cap does not fit the ND filter, which is the filter many people would use most frequently. I just went to my local photo store and found a good lens cap to fit the ND filter. It is the Pro-Master 72mm lens cap. Other 72mm caps didn’t fit properly, but this one did.In the future, it would be great if SmallRig included caps for all of the filters in the kit.

Works great for the SmallRig phone cage set up. A good amount of options. I do wish there was an additional ND32 that could be combined with the VND to get an extra range of stops.

There is not a lot of information about these filters and I could only find limited written reviews. Smallrig has always impressed me for it's value so I decided to try these instead of the Freewell M2 series (around £100 more). I decided 82mm was too big for most of my lenses, and 67mm would suit me better atm - which ruled out the superior Freewell V2 system. In tests these filters produce great looking pictures, the magnets work well, and everything came nicely packaged and presented. Very easy to use.Unfortunately this system has 2 large negatives that may mean I need to return it:1) The ND filter is larger than 67mm and this stops you being able to use your lens hood... One of the reasons I got a 67mm filter (matching my lens) was to continue being able to use the hood with filters. This is a design failure as it removes a benefit of getting the correct size filter for your lens. Strange decision with no benefit and a major downside.2) A secondary affect of this decision is the included lens cap does not fit the ND filter... 🤦‍♂️ This is a laughable decision. The ND filter goes on top of the other filters, so it's the one that needs a cap the most! The cap doesn't fit it at all. Really poor design, and quite a let down as you've sold it as having a cap that it doesn't have at all. I've had to use my lens cap instead, which sort of fits, but not in a way that makes me confident. Smallrig should have made it the same size or included 2.Overall it's a shame because the kit is good value for money and looks great, but these 2 flaws are quite odd and make the filters more difficult to use than they should be. I will now consider alternatives that do not have these problems.
