How did you come up with the idea for this product?
ZUMY was born in 2020. More people were working from home than ever before and Mike, new to the work-from-home movement, struggled to find a lighting solution that checked all the boxes. He set out to create a better video conference light that provided professional-quality lighting that was portable and affordable. Enter ZUMY.
What makes your product special?
ZUMY is the only video conference light on the market that mimics professional soft-box light diffusion with its proprietary expansion technology. Not only does it put out an excellent lighting source, the expanding and collapsing design makes it uniquely portable.
What has been the best part of your experience?
Helping people improve personal human connection, especially during the trying events of 2020 and beyond, has been a highlight of launching ZUMY. Additionally, taking a concept and being a part of the evolution – from design to production – has been challenging, rewarding, and exciting. We've enjoyed learning and collaborating with other creatives during the process. One of the best parts of it all? We're best friends! Getting to work together every day has been a blast!

Pros:It's a great collapsible videoconferencing light that easily attaches to your laptop screen or (now) your external desktop monitor.Your Zumy now includes a stick-on disk mount for the back of your desktop monitor. I've recently purchased a second Zumy light to improve my videoconferencing lighting in my home office or wherever I might be working.Zumy's customer service is the best that I've had the pleasure of dealing with in years! BRAVO ZULUCons:My first Zumy included a branded nylon zipper storage pouch for storing and transporting my Zump light. Unfortunately, Zumy customer service told me that this is no longer the case.

I recently purchased the Zumy Softbox Video Conference Lighting, and it has been a game changer for my video recordings and Zoom meetings. The portable USB LED light is easy to set up and has four different soft light levels, making it perfect for any lighting situation. It's also great for laptop and computer video lighting, as well as for camera webcam streaming and selfie lighting. The quality of the light is exceptional and has made a noticeable difference in the overall quality of my videos. This simple, easy-to-use, and portable light attaches to our monitor and adds just enough light to make Zoom calls look professional. It also has several brightness settings, so it can light us in a dark room or provide some extra fill when the daylight isn't quite enough. And it fits in a backpack or bag, so we can use it when we travel, too.

This was much smaller than I expected (sardine tin size). It’s really annoying to open the collapsed backend, it wants to fold back to original form.The filtered light helps keep reflections off my glasses during videoconferencing. It isn’t very bright, I have to have two other lights (left and right angle) in order to be bright enough for the camera.

I have used a couple of variations of these video conferencing lights in the past. Some had filters, batteries, capacitive touch buttons to accidentally press, were heavy, and didn't diffuse light well. This lamp is very light, mounts onto the laptop display perfectly (i used to have one that clamped on so hard the LCD discolored when it was mounted), uses the USB instead of a separate battery, and has a lamp with 4 adjustable brightness modes. The light is soft and sometimes I forget that I left it on. I have zero fear of throwing it in my laptop bag given how soft that accordion back is. Really happy with it.

I bought the Zumy to help light my face during all of my conference calls with my work colleagues. My home office area gets dark so I needed a product that could help with that. I was looking for a good quality light that didn't break the bank.When I opened the box I was surprised to find such a high quality product for the price. The unboxing experience was really nice. All of the parts are in plain view and easy to see. Setting up the light was as simple as taking it out of the box, clipping it on my computer and plugging it into my the USB port. Boom! it just works!The first thing I noticed when I started using it was that the light really helped improve how I showed up on camera. It was diffused and didn't blind me during meetings. I also like how easy it is to increase/decrease the brightness with one button.I really like how the product folds up and they have even though about how the USB cord is stored once your done using it. It fold up really nicely. It's so compact that I can even throw it in my work bag when I go on trips.Overall, Zumy is a great product. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a zoom light that doesn't break the bank.

Not worth the price at all. Power cord falls out while using and the brightest setting is still not sufficient to light darker skin tones.

I'd say if you purchased this I HIGHLY recommend getting some sort of 3M sticker. The product itself is fabulous but unfortunately it doesn't stick to a monitor that has a slight angle off. (Not all monitors have flatbacks, I wish this was part of the design consideration!!) But overall, I thought the light was really flattering and I like that there's some adjustment.

I love the Zumy! It is lightweight and easy to carry in my bag or across the office when necessary. It fits on my desktop and laptop which is a huge plus so I can use it on my various devices! My kids can even use it for school work when they are recording video assignments or doing virtual learning days. I wasn't sure if the light would be enough but it really is! I've used it on cloudy days and at night and it makes a huge difference. The lighting creates a more professional look which is great for meetings with coworkers and clients. I'm definitely going to order extra for home, office and friends/family! makes a great and useful gift. Highly recommend!
