Product came fast. Was thinking about canceling and sending it back. According to SBC website, it had to be purchased through an authorized dealer, to have a warranty..apparently not even through Amazon? I called the Amazon seller and he said that it is warranted. I bought the $69. two years warranty through Amazon just in case. Install was straightforward. Double checked the torque and witnessed marked everything. Lots of YouTube videos for installation reference. The clutch is smoother than the previous one I had on my 1998.5 Dodge. The truck is used to pull our 7-8 thousand pound travel trailer maybe 15% of the time. 10% hauling 2 tons of hay and a water tank. The rest of the time I drive it just to keep the battery charged….My 5th gear is back again after the install! Feels good to drive again. My truck has just reached 180000 miles. Very mild modifications and the truck runs rock steady. Anyway I highly suggest doing the rear main seal while you have the clutch out. To me that was the most nerve-racking part of the installation. Be careful not to come too close to the crank. The Felpro kit I ordered through Amazon had the installation tool ring along with the rear main seal.. Anyway the drilling and screw insertion can be a major problem if you scar the crank. After I had everything put back together my starter on the truck was not working properly. The 13” flywheel that SBC has with the kit needs an adapter for the starter. I have a NV 4500 on my truck, apparently the flywheel ring gear ls closer to the crank. (for the NV 5600?) So buy the spacer adapter when you order the SBC clutch for your 5 speed. The other company I was considering using has the starter adapter included in some of their clutch kits. Overall I can’t wait till it’s broken in. 400-500 miles of driving it mildly. I hope it last as long as the previous clutch. (Close to 100000 miles.) We’ll see..

Purchased this clutch March of 2020, installed May of 2020. Failed yesterday. My truck is well within HP / torque spec of this clutch. Appears the throwout bearing failed, but will know entirely the damage when ripped out. Of course I am out of manufacturer warranty, and South Bend wants absolutely nothing to do with me.

Holds it down no more slipping. The max torque and hp rating for this clutch is a very conservative estimate.

Clutch is a great replacement/upgrade on a mildly upgraded Cummins 12v with nv4500. Pulls hard. My truck has around 350 hp and easily double that in torque. Tow regularly in excess of 10,000lbs clutch holds great. I installed the heavy duty hydraulics from south bend with it . Pressure plate is slightly heavier feel than stock about 35 pounds of force on the clutch pedal to depress . It does hook up harder than a stock clutch so don’t expect to ride your clutch because things can get violent . Not a problem though if your a seasoned driver with good experience driving standard transmissions. . When backing a trailer though I’d highly recommend kicking the truck in 4lo if you don’t have 4:10 gears . Slightly larger flywheel but it will fit a 100percent stock truck with no modifications and the factory input shaft in the transmission

After buying this here I had weird messages when I went to Southbends website-I guess they didn't like the good deal I got from Amazon. Very Good product and works excellent
