I bought the size recommended and could barely get them on. Once on, they were tight in the legs and the top of the waste, but not at the stomach part- which is the entire point. I've bought cheaper brands that have fit way better.

My surgeon recommended that I purchase spanx highwasted full power shorts for post abdominoplasty surgery. I am 5'1" tall, 145 pounds and my measurements (taken accurately by a nurse) suggested a size Large. I ordered two pair in Large and one in XL.10 days post op, I tried to put the XL on and simply couldn't. I had to laugh with the reviewer that stated she was so exhausted after putting hers on that she couldn't attend the affair that she had bought them for!Many reviews say sizing was perfect, some say it's a bit of a struggle getting them on, but for me, even after utilizing the tips offered in the reviews, XL was impossible for me to get on. Perhaps if I weren't all lumpy-bumpy sore I could have gotten the XL on, but at this point I'm returning one of the Large pair in exchange for a 2XL (!!!).For immediately post-op I got a Marena with zip-up sides in XL, which the nurse said is providing perfect compression. It can go in the drier resulting in about a 1 hour turn around including a "quick wash". It cost the same as 3 pair of Spanx, but it also has a large open crotch so I'm not pulling them off and on constantly (the gusset in the Spanx is a bit of a joke).Again, maybe because I'm trying to find something in a reasonable price range for post belly surgery (that my surgeon recommended) I expected these to fit well.Update: the Spanx 2XL is the right size for my body right now. Putting them on is tiring, but at least they're on. The gusseted crotch covers so well that it's nearly impossible to open it enough with 2 hands, and then you have to let go with one hand to wipe and it closes right up. Icky wet hands and fabric. How can those who say the gusset works actually accomplish this?I bought a second Marena...

These are delicate and ripped near the seam. They smooth out the tummy area, but the top rolled down a bit. I typically buy large, and they fit.

I don’t normally take the the time to review, but these are great!To help others:I’m size 18-20 pantsWeight 200-210lbsHeight 5’7”I bought XL in black.Spending a little bit more has been worth it! I have no discomfort or “snatching”. I have no bulges or lines showing under my clothes! My bum looks good too! I cold water wash these or hand wash in cold water, then I hang these to dry. I’ve had my Spanx for a few months now and have used them at least a dozen times. They haven’t worn out or torn. Of course, they are hard to get on, as shapewear always is, but I just pull the shorts on a little at a time, going from leg to leg, until they’re at mid-thigh. It sometimes takes a little effort to pull them all the way up to underneath my bra, but it’s great that they stay up all day! I need control right under my bra line as well because I also “muffin-top” there. A few times, the top part may roll down, but I get it to stay up for good after a bit, unlike a few other high-rise shapewear for tummy control that I’ve tried which just roll down and give up on me. Maidenform I ordered too, but it was useless for my size & shape because it rolled down, no matter what—With Maidenform, I always had to find a place where I could privately adjust it! I’m thinking about getting the Spanx open-bust mid-thigh bodysuit as well! I hope my review can help you, ladies!

Die Hose werde ich garantiert nicht umtauschen. Die beste Miederware, die ich je hatte. Sie sitzt perfekt und was ich persönlich ganz fantastisch fine, ist, dass sie geräuscharm ist. Meine Beine reiben aneinander und die preiswerten Hosen knirschen oder wie man das Geräusch nennt. Jeder weiß man trägt ein Höschen drunter. Aber hier kommt überhaupt kein Ton der Beinreibung zustande. Total super finde ich das und empfehle das Höschen 👍👍👍P. S. auch der eingebaute Pinkelschlitz ist perfekt, man muss sich nicht immer aus der Hose puhlen. Klare Kaufempfehlung 👌Test bei 30 Grad: alles Top, kein aufrollen, Hose sitzt perfekt, weiterhin geräuscharm, schneidet nicht ein und angenehm zu tragen. Habe alle billigen Höschen direkt entsorgt und werde nur noch diese Marke benutzen.

SPANX Women's Higher Power Shorts, Soft Nude, Large VS. Rago Women's Hi Waist Long Leg Shaper, Beige, Large (30)All the wedding dress shopping articles tell you to wear the undergarments you are planning to wear on the day to the fittings, so I ordered shapewear in preparation for my dress fitting appointment. The two main recommendations were SPANX (an obvious choice as this brand has become synonymous with shapewear—like Kleenex and tissue) and Rago. Most of the reviews I read highly recommended Rago so I ordered comparable options in both; high waist and mid thigh.I wasn’t looking for a lot of shaping help. I consider myself very body positive. I love my curves and just wanted to smooth out my silhouette a tad (I mean I am spending a lot of money on pictures and a dress).The Rago are well constructed and beautiful. They have boning and are made of sturdy elastic lace. They also have clasps for stockings which is very cool. They are very difficult to get on and off and I was very worried about ripping the more delicate areas of the lace (I believe they are much sturdier than they appear though). The lace was itchy but not so bad that I believe you wouldn’t get used to it. The boning at the top gives me great confidence that the waist band would not roll down. The tummy panel and the structuring on the sides and back works very well to elevate and compliment your curves.The SPANX are made of a very comfortable elastic material like very thick nylons. They are very comfortable and easy to pull on. They hold everything in place and smooth out the lines of your body without overly changing your silhouette. The waistband has a think gel strip along the top that prevents the top from curling down (I read many reviews that pointed to SPANX having this problem compared to Rago). I moved around a lot while I tried these on to see if the top would roll down and it did not. The thigh section is thicker than the top and I didn’t observe any problems with the ends rolling up either. I believe if you size these correctly you will have no problem with them rolling or sliding out of place.Both pairs of shapewear feature a split crotch so that they do not need to be removed to go to the restroom (I read a few reviews where Rago was recommended for having these, over SPANX so maybe SPANX has recently added this feature).For my needs I will be keeping the SPANX. I prefer less shape help but would highly recommend the RAGO to anyone that feels more comfortable with more support! The SPANX also feel more comfortable to me and I have very sensitive skin (I do believe that people with normal skin would find the Rago brand comfortable but I feel that it will drive me crazy).
