These are NOT Torx.SPAX does not own the Torx trade-name. They own the T-star trade-name.The two products are not interchangeable, as testified by the fact that a Torx bit is not a good fit for a T-star screw head, and vise versa.T-Star is a different design from Torx and are considered by many to be an improvement over Torx, which is entirely understandable, considering the fact that the T-star drive is a German invention, whereas the Torx drive is American.

I have been using spax screws specifically for about four years now because of their proprietary bit and fitment. Being able to push screws without a pilot one handed and not having to guide the screw until it bites. They stopped carrying them in stores locally in the last 6 months and I just ordered 5 lbs of basically every size to replenish my stock. Something seems different with the fit quality they no longer fully seat on the proprietary bit nearly as well as they used to which makes you hand start every screw.

Been using these for almost five years now. The Torx drive is just the best. Screws start fast and easy. Don't think I have ever broken one of them.

These SPAX flat head exterior screws are the best ever! They are made to go into wood without too much force and really quickly “dig in”! I live on a Farm and am always looking for great products with ease of use. My Barn was built in 1886 & I’m a Senior Citizen Gal who weighs 124 pounds. They are also a great value, so nice job, SPAX!

Being 2.5 inches, they work well for screwing 2by lumber together to double up joists or other applications where attaching one 2by to another 2by.
