Wish I could give this zero stars. It was bent. The box it showed up in looked like the box from Ace Ventura, ripped and kicked around. Installed it and instantly started leaking. JUNK!

This worked perfectly for replacing a leaking heater core in my 1998 Volvo V70. The price is a lot lower than an OEM unit and it works just as well.

The construction of the core and tanks seems adequate, but there are some QC issues that make me want to return it - although I really need the car back in service so I might have to correct the issues myself just to get this over with sooner - but for the price paid, I shouldn’t have to spend more money and do extra work.What irks me most is the foam seal. When I first opened the box I was momentarily excited to see that the foam was pre-installed, saving me some work. But once I got the part completely out of the box I noticed that the foam installation job wasn’t pretty to say the least. One corner had no foam wrapped around it - yet there was sticky residue where the foam would’ve been. No loose pieces of foam in the box so it wasn’t shipping damage. Was I sold a previously returned product at full price? Also the foam doesn’t extend all the way to the bottom corners like on the original Volvo core.So essentially I’d have to buy some foam to replace the shoddily pre-installed foam.Then there’s the infamous hole mentioned in other reviews. You can see in my picture that the hole is there but not finished. Looks like the hole is a feature made by the mold rather than drilled - looks like a quick swipe with a deburring tool is all that would be needed to knock the remaining “flash” off to make the hole functional.After writing the review, I’m feeling more inclined to return it.At least the O-rings seem to be quality silicone pieces.

Do not buy this, mine was missing the hole to allow for it to be fastened to the piping. Had to buy a new core and do the whole job over again.

Has a picture of just a pair of o rings in the ad but doesn't include any. Screw hole needs drilling out. Looks good otherwise.

I will say, mine needed to hole drilled, big THANK YOU to everyone who posted this in the reviews! It's not worth shorting this a star due to the lack of that hole being drilled, literally took 10 seconds to drill it out.Fit like a glove and construction looks solid.Longevity will tell but 40 dollars is cheap enough, if I get at least 2 years out of it, I will be more than happy.Some people mentioned a smell and coating, I will say it does have a slight smell but beats the smell of coolant filling the cabin.Includes 2 gaskets that are of good quality, they might actually be silicone as well, but I am not concerned with them leaking.Hope this helps someone choose this product!

Installed correctly after modification, works exactly as expected, super happy. That being said, I had totally installed it and went to put the bolt through the connector to attach to the heater pipes and the bolt didn't sit anywhere...like, couldn't get it "into the hole" that I knew had to be there. Removed the just installed core, to realize that the bolt hole hadn't been drilled through. I felt like a doofus for not checking and like a dumb mechanic for assuming that it would be drilled through. 2 minutes and a power tool later, hole drilled and the heater core worked as expected. Just a bad mold i guess. hope this review prevents the same mistake

Installed in my 94 850 Turbo Wagon. No issues whatsoever. Of course it's not as nice as the OEM unit, but it gets the job done. Even if it lasts half as long (10 years), I won't complain. Installation is surprisingly easy.

It is ironic that the photo of this item shows a vital screw hole between the inlet and outlet in the upper left. "Ironic", because the item arrive WITHOUT this screw hole fully drilled through. Simple to drill, but I don't imagine a manufacturing budget being broken if the hole were fully drilled. Upon further inspection after removal, it appeared as if the hole were actually filled in. It was the one thing I missed when inspecting the item before installing (admittedly, which is my own fault), as aggravating as it to install this, imagine my frustration with being unable to seat the last screw, perhaps the most vital. Although the original lasted 21 years, there is more aluminum in the construction of this item. This item is better contructed where the original is weak. Everything lined up perfectly (with the screw hole fully drilled).Good Price.Arrived early.Packing was poor - beyond the shipping box itself, there was no internal protection or padding. A couple of areas with slightly bent radiating fins, but not enough to consider the item damaged. Every video I found installing a heater core where the core was removed from the box was protected, but not this one.Would I buy from them again? perhaps.
