About this item

  • Efficient Cooling: Enhance your vintage engine's cooling by adding this 6 Volt electric radiator fan, known to be more efficient than mechanical engine-driven fans by freeing up horsepower and only running when needed.
  • Versatile Mounting: The fan is designed to be mounted either ahead of the radiator (as a pusher) or behind it (as a puller), giving you the flexibility to choose based on your specific setup.
  • Size and Material: Available in 12", 14" or 16" diameters, these fans come with 10 straight blades and a high impact plastic construction, ensuring durability and long-lasting use.
  • Robust Design: The fan features sealed ball bearings for extended life and can work effectively with both positive or negative ground systems.
  • Package Inclusions: In addition to the fan, the package includes mounting ears for easy installation. Please note, straps, relay, and fan control are sold separately.

Help your vintage engine keep cool by adding an electric cooling fan to your radiator. Electric fans are far more efficient than mechanical engine driven fans because they free up horsepower and only run when you want them to (when used with a fan controller, not included). Plus, most electric fans can be mounted ahead of the radiator (pusher) or behind the radiator (puller), with the more efficient location being on the engine side of the radiator as a puller configuration. These powerful electric fans work with 6-volt electrical systems and draw 6 to 10 amps, depending on the size. The fan is supplied as a "puller" to mount behind the radiator, but it can be changed to a "pusher" by reversing the wires and mounting in front of the radiator. Available in 12", 14" or 16" diameters. Fans have 10 straight blades. High impact plastic construction. Sealed ball bearings for long life. Can push or pull. Works with positive or negative ground systems. Includes mounting ears (straps not included) For best results, be sure that your generator supplies enough current to power the fan. If it does not, check out our 6 Volt Alternator 91067169. It supplies additional current at idle to run electric accessories, unlike many factory generators. To learn more about the importance of using a fan shroud along with your cooling fan, read our tech article Radiator Cooling Performance. *Relay and fan control sold separately.

Although there is no CFM rating on the fan I can say according to Speedway Motors Website that this fan will pull 10amps. I am using the 16" Fan. 12" equals 6amps, 14" equals 8amps and 16" equals 10amps... What this is in CFM rating I couldn't tell you... I ran Direct Battery power (-) from battery to the "C" common side of a 6Volt Relay. I then ran a Wire from the "NO" contact of my 6 volt relay through a Thermal Probe that is mounted in my radiator.. The thermal probe is rating at 180 degress to turn on... From the probe the wire goes to one side of my fan... I use Ignition source (-) to feed the coil of my 6 Volt Relay... Fan and Relay (+) are ran to ground.. Hence I have a positive ground 6 volt system... Tested and the fan will turn on at around 190 or so.... Works fine for Texas hot weather.. From testing the fan I used the black wire as positive and the blue wire as negative.. This setup works as a pusher fan in front of the radiator...
