No protruding nuts or bolt heads. Also the fine thread on the screw head bolts make for a tight and secure mounting.

We accidently furled our Genoa a bit too tight and broke 3 of our old ones in addition to the jammer/clutch. These were a terrific replacement for our 1in stanchions and seem sturdy for the job. Hopefully that mistake won't be repeated, but these work great.
