Works well to turn off fuel, difficult to anchor.

I installed this on a Toro single stage snow blower that did not have a shut off valve already. It was easy to install. I used a step drill bit to get a clean 9/16” hole and it fit perfectly. The build feels very solid, not like the cheaper plastic ones. I expect it to last a long time.I would buy this again if I need another surface mount shut off valve.

The fuel cut off is fair and we will see what the long range results are in the spring

Used this to make a fuel shutoff for my Honda EU2000i generator. Bought the other two items shown on the page, the 1/4" ID fuel hose and the 1/4" clamps. This is all you need to install the shutoff on the Honda Generator. Takes less than 1/2 hour to install. All the instructions are on YouTube. You do need to drill a 9/16" hole in your casing to install the shut-off valve.Once installed, it will leave fuel in the fuel pump so it does not dry out but burn the remaining fuel in the carburetor so that it does not gunk it up with the current ethanol fuel after sitting for a month or two. Prior to this I had been draining the tank and burning the remaining gas to empty the entire system after each use, but others have suggested that this might cause the fuel pump to dry out and fail. I don't know. You could also just open the case after each use and open the fuel bowl drain plug and drain it that way, but what a pain especially if you are away from the house. When shutting down the Honda Generator, turn the fuel petcock to the off position and let the generator quit on its own. As it begins to surge, you can also open the choke to try and get as much fuel out as possible. Then just turn the start switch to the off position. This will hopefully cure the problem of leaving ethanol fuel in your generator for longer periods of time when you don't run it regularly.

I had to modify my small Honda generator, the new gas available was killing it. It would set for a month and when started it would surge and die, and hardly stay running. I tried all kinds of fixes and finally on Youtube saw a fix I could live with. I inserted this valve in the fuel intake line, mounting it through the top of the outer case for easy access. Now when I stop the generator I turn off the valve and run the carb dry. Then turn off the electric switch. I can now leave the generator set for a month, turn on the gas, put the choke on and it will start on the second pull and idle perfectly from the beginning.

This is a very high quality fuel shutoff valve which is far superior in every way to any plastic valve. Smooth, positive operation and built to last a lifetime. There are no o-rings to harden and shrink, causing leaks, as this is a precision ball valve. I use this valve on my 2 stroke Lawnboy mower and on my 2 stroke Toro snowblower to prevent carb flooding when the needle tip hardens prematurely due to the alcohol in fuel (now even when the tip hardens I just leave the needle installed because the hardened tip is only an issue while the engine is not running). I used to replace the needle every season or two so this valve will save me a LOT of time and money over the life of my Duraforce engines (which is easily 25-30 years). No more oily fuel in the air filters and in the exhaust and all over the floor! Also, no more excessive smoking on startup. Excellent service and product from Powersport Superstore and Amazon. Highly recommended and definitely worth every penny. Thanks!

I bought this item to add a gasoline shut off valve to my snow blower to prevent drips from the carburetor when it is not in use. I wasn't to hard to engineer, build a mounting bracket and mount the valve on the snow blower. I had to use the snow blower numerous times this past winter. The Shut-Off Valve worked perfect. Absolutely no dripping of gasoline from the carburetor after the Shut-Off Valve was closed off. Excellent item.
