Nice feel with realistic weight, blowback, and look to this BB gun. The finish of the internal part, as shown in my photos, could be better. The design of the magazine could also be better. I had BBs fly out when I closed the spring to push the BBs to the top of the mag. I had a few misfeeds from the mag into the chamber, but generally, it functioned well.The blowback function works very well. I tried capturing the action on slow motion video, but it didn't come out in good enough quality to post. The trigger is very sloppy with a lot of distance to close before it gets to the activation part. That could have been an easy fix for them. I'd give this 3.5 stars for that reason, but half stars is not an option. When the mag is empty, the slide locks to the rear as with a real Hellcat.The accuracy is good at about 15 feet. It is good to help new shooters with their technique, or fun for plinking cans in the back yard. Just don't let kids have this unsupervised. There is no orange plastic end on the barrel showing law enforcement that it's only a BB gun, so it would def be seen as a 9mm pistol if you didn't know better.

Amazingly close to a real Hellcat Pro in weight and function that it is hard to tell them apart in person even side by side. Even the trigger uptake and break point is close to the same. Same sight picture (just no tritium in the front post) same mag release and same grip - ideal for improving your draw times at home with actual feedback instead of just a dry fire laser. Comes with a single mag but they are only a few bucks and are easily found online so you can practice reloads as well. 17 round capacity makes it perfect for training based on the actual capacity of the real HellCat Pro mag (or just load to 15 to mimic the standard mag obviously). Fires around 350FPS or so with a fresh CO2 cartridge so it is pretty safe to use indoors with a BB capture backstop. Also perfect to train a new gun person on proper handling and carry. The blowback action is great - you really do get the actual hesitation response which makes it a great tool to train yourself out of that anticipation reaction or at least minimize it. Very accurate for an inexpensive BB pistol at 20 yards with a topped off CO2 loaded in. Also very simple to pop on a light to the front rails to hone your light skills. Highly recommended.

The Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro is a quality piece of kit that feels like the real thing. The Hellcat feels quite substantial in the hand and can be used for drawing and drill practice. For use with .177 caliber BB's only - pellets will not work and cannot be loaded. The stipple pattern, molded into the grip, provides secure handling. A rail is molded into the lower and an optic can be mounted on the upper. A sturdy metal magazine is included. The removable backstrap includes an enclosed hex wrench for securing the CO2 cartridge in place. In action, take-up is quite lengthy at 13/16" but breaks cleanly at that point. The manual and trigger safeties work very reliably. The slide operates both manually and with each trigger pull. Typical BB accuracy and fun for plinking.Fit of all components is excellent. There are several finish issues. The plastic around the magwell is quite sharp out of the box and needs some light filing to break the edges for more comfort. The moldline on the backstrap is also prominent and very sharp.

The Springfield Armory Hellcat is an excellent beginner air pistol. It comes with easy-to-follow instructions and some very important safety tips, to avoid unneeded accidents. It doesn’t come with ammo or any CO2 cartridges, but they are very easy to find and inexpensive online. The pistol also comes with an installable site which is great for aspiring sharpshooters. Above all else, I was really impressed with the real feel of the gun, from the weight to no-slip grip, everything about it seemed authentic. I look forward to some target practice in the backyard to test my skills with this well designed BB pistol.
