I bought a new bike and it came with the 12 speed SRAM road chain. That chain needs another type of connector as the 12 speed mountain won’t work. Neither will the 11 speed connector. I always carry one of these for emergencies, as you will literally be up a creek if chain brakes out in the middle of nowhere. It has the same feel and look as the Eagle connectors that I have had good luck with. I like the SRAM blister card as it protects then connector better while in the saddle bag.

So everytime I want to do a deep clean of my chain I have to buy a new link? May as well us pins.
