The holiday is observed in many European countries, where children leave out shoes or stockings on the night of December 5th to be filled with small gifts or treats. St. Nicholas is often depicted in bishop’s robes, sometimes accompanied by helpers, and his visits symbolize rewards for good behavior. Its a lovely necklace, but the chain does not come unclasped. To be fair, the description does not say one way or the other. So if you have a big head, its not your best choice.
